Thanks, and OBBM do this? I've recently bought a cable from him and can't recommend him enough!
He sounds like the man to contact.
Hi guys, been using my ACS Pro 17' earplugs for a while on stage, when it occurred to me that i could just get a pair of headphones and insert them into the moulds, which work fantastic! Now, I'm after a cheap IEM system, so I have the moulds and earphones, so I'm after just a pack and receiver i guess? Any recommendations, ideally something under £200?
Do you play your bass with a cable? If so, you could cable tie a monitor feed to you cable and T is off near you waste to either something like the Fischer in ear monitor pack and to your ear phones... Alternatively, you could send the amplified signal along the length of your bass cable and just plug in your headphones to that. Going to sound better and be cheaper than most options.
also anyone had issues with moulds moving about and losing seal when your singing backing vocals? i've lived with triple driver moulds for about 9 months done various gigs on them (both as a bass player and an engineer) and had issues losing bass response when i'm singing backing vocals? i've just gone to a pair of these http://www.headphoni...emium-earphones and its a revelation completely cured the problem and sound better than my triple driver moulds, they reproduce my bass in a pleasing way and i'm noticing stuff in my reference tracks that i never did before. Has anyone else had a similar experience or am i just noticing the extra driver?
Are you talking about custom moulds on your triples? Or standard tips? If you are losing the seal whilst singing, the custom is not a good fit... If they are customs, did you have an open or closed mouth impression? If you are a singer, you should have had an open mouth impression. The second you lose the seal, you will lose your bass. What you are probably experiencing this time round, is a combination of the better seal... and more headroom in your bass frequencies with the extra bottom driver. You will be able to push the bass more before the driver gives up.

Shure QLX-D now announced - bridging the gap between the GLX-D and the ULX-D. Certainly one to watch for - it addresses the non rack annoyance of the GLX-D. Guessing it's going to come in at around 700/800+ ish if it's priced in the middle of the two units... but that's just me speculating.
Nobody should be using multi-kW PAS in small venues. Even one with a really loud drummer doesn't need more than 300W per side, no point in DI-ing below about 200 capacity venue. Never understood why people lug such mounds of kit about.
*snigger* If mixed properly and you let the PA do the work, the FOH will sound a lot better through backline alone. Every time. It's not about power, it's about balance and control of the mix.

Thanks...! Good to know you thought it was good - that was the goal!

So we have been busy creating the new promo for my band... Check these out and see what you think. Let me know your opinions.

I don't believe that the 215/315s are insertable into the stock ACS moulds - I think tonyf has been there previously. For maximum capability, I would go for the T15s. They are all single drivers so the amount of headroom is not going to be staggering. They will sound good... and better than most off the shelf nears... Just don't expect thunderous bass.

Cheap wireless bass/guitar sistem. Should i buy it?

http://www.ebolmer.com/contact.html 2.4ghz from here... So it's legal in uk. -
IEMs rule supreme and ultimately the place that you want to be. However, not the cheapest of options to do well.
-
17s are usually what most people want.

The LS9 is getting a bit long in the tooth now... it was staggering when it hit the market... but it needs an update to keep up with some of the more modern offerings.
Just like a Ferrari is built to go fast. The same logic applies... The harder you run something, more wear & tear you put on the parts. The lower the Ω the more current is going through the amp's components. Current = heat & heat reduces the life of the components. They might well last the full time that you have your amp, but if you can get a great sound with plenty of volume* and not have to run the amp as hot, why would that be a bad thing? * "Sound & Volume"... I've never heard one of these cabs, so I can only go on what I've read. For all I know, I might not like the sound.
I think you are missing the point. Running a Ferrari fast is not the same as trying to get the same performance out of a Berlingo. If you cripple the performance of the Berlingo, you are going to end up with something very crap.
-
If you run your Ferrari regularly to the red line, it's not going to last as long as what it would if you keep it below the red line.
Who said anything about redlining it? Shall we just tinker with it and put a sticker on the back saying that it's limited to 50mph instead?
-
...or conversely, getting the most out of your amp? Would you get in your Ferrari and only press the throttle half way?
-
And to think Alex took the piss out of me for having my 4 x 2x10 module rig. Oh how I smirk.
-
Oh c'mon. He's put a 8 and a 4 Ohm driver in series and is going to mutter some technobabble about different impedance curves and frequency curves. No special drivers about it.
-
I run the GLD OneMix app. A few people have asked me about it on gigs. I blows them away when they see the mixing desk presented on an iPad screen. Its really nice being able to control your monitor mix at your fingertips.
-
Crappy phone pic but you get the idea.
-
Kemper Tony??? You could profile your exact rig - amp and Berg. Theoretically, you'd get that exact sound in your ears in then... but without the actual onstage sound.
-
PS told you the sound onstage at the Jam House is awful!!
-
Haha Tony. It terrible without IEM now isn't it? I did another gig on my new toys and found that switching on the 4dB HF boost on the radio receiver pack put me where I wanted to be. So alls splendid in this camp. Sounds amazing for listening to music and sounds amazing for live IEM use. All good!
