[/quote] Defo! Drummers love a bit of it. PS - TDL - read about setting up the compressors and gates for your mics and you'll be able to push that much better without getting to feedback. If you haven't got a bassdrum mic, a cheap dedicated bass drum mic is what you need. Chucking a SM58 in there won't do it! Of couse, me writing this is all meaningless if you still have me on block!

[/quote] I think this is going to be a bit of a stumbling block for the end of chain IEM device - even if they did make the latency even smaller, there is still the stuff upchain. I can't see people selling off their existing Line6, Stageclix, Sony, whatever digital devices... expensive desks being replaced... not any time soon I would wager! I think Line6 and Stageclix announced their developments more than a little prematurely. From a logical point of view, it's just about reversing the flow... but it doesn't work quite as easy as that when the output is directly piped into your ear and the source and destination are effectively in the same place, especially when you're a singer. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see a digital IEM solution that works... just can't see it happening for a while yet, especially at the cheaper end of the market!

Can't help with the LD systems I am afraid... but I would be keen to hear people's impression of them. If they are good, they should be cleaning up - the PSM200 seems to be the go to system, probably because of the Shure brand... but I'm far from convinced by it's performance. The Senn EW300 and Shure PSM900 still seem to be the systems to go for without going into crazy, crazy money but if the LD systems can get within a whif of them, that's got to be good. As for the digital IEMs, I am still very skeptical - the latency is my main concern. In the worst situation, you are going to be getting some significant latency - if you went digital wireless, through a digital desk and then through digital monitoring. I'm convinved the delay would make it very confusing to sing due to hearing the real time in your head and a noticable delay in your ears. Your brains going to hate it. Of course, if you aren't using digital anywhere in your chain, it may be acceptable... but given the fact that everything is going digital, I wouldn't want to take that step until the latency figures are well, well, well lower than where they are currently at. Have to say also, that I've been auditioning alot of CIEMs of late - and I'm not convinced that ACS are the best bang for buck either... but that's a completely different story!

Common practice in the hire world is to put the ends of the sm58 in the dishwasher. Deadly serious!

Both are beautiful cases, I always liked the Reunion Blues stuff over the Mono. Don't know why really - probably because I crossed paths with it first. Cant say for sure without seeing the rack case but i would be surprised if you could get all that front and back in a standard rack case/bag.

Depending upon the rack case and the proximity you stand to your rig, you may want to mount your tuner to the bottom... or at least but it up next to the amp with the blank above it. Doesn't happen at every gig but with some rack cases, the view of the tuner can be obscured if looking top down... if you get what I mean. I need to move mine from the top for this very reason... but have not had the enthusiasm to get the screwdriver out yet. I'm guessing the cooling of your amp will be severely compromised by putting stuff behind it too...

The drummer won't be very popular if they take up the stage... that's the guitarist's job anyway. The Bose guys aren't going to say anything but though are they? If you've got the money to invest, a digital desk, some time to learn it (e.g. the processing for compression, gates, reverb and other fx, 31 band eqs on the outputs), and a decent set of front of houses (and monitors if you need) will kill everything. It will also future proof you for many, many years. Outboard will become a thing of the past given the trend of digital desks at the moment. Seriously. (PS if they above is trolling, I apologise in advance (and I know you have me on block anyways) - but this post is for the benefit of others who may be in a similar situation to the OP)

Smacking seven shades of sh1t out of your bass drum got to have an impact on what you can play... let the amplification do the work. Micing a kit even in a small venue has it's advantages. What's the point of that splash if you can't hear it? Mic it up. In fact, scrap all those ideas. Tell your singer to forget the mic and shout louder.
