1.
yes definitely buy another one and put that behind the band too it's sure to help cut feedback!
What? No mention of the Behringer feedback destroyer?
 2.
Quick view on Mackie stuff - if you but anything with electronics in it (power amp, powered cabs, mixer etc) and it breaks then you can head straight to the nearest tip with it. Mackie gear is notoriously difficult to repair, I know one amp tech who pretty much refuses to even consider working on them. A friend of mine had a powered mixer fail recently and the potential cost of repair was way more than it was worth. I realise this can be the case with a few brands but my amp tech says Mackie is one of the worst. Maybe they have proprietary electronics in them that aren't easily replaceable I have to add that putting PA behind the ban is asking for trouble in just about any venue. Even with mics that have a super tight pattern you're going to pick up whatever's being fired at them through those speakers. It's fairly simple logic really - the rear speakers must be louder than the unamplified voices going into your vocal mics. This mean that the vocal mics will undoubtedly be picking up other, potentially loud, noise from the PA = feedback loop. Keeping the volume low and/or tuning the hell out them with a set of graphics will help but then that's going to kill your headroom and/or the sound is going to get pretty nasty. I have used side-fills that fire across the stage at larger venues with some success but with a decent set of monitors (an area where modern tech has really improved quality) I don't think it's really necessary any more. As others have said, I'd try setting up in a more acoustically efficient manner and re-tuning the PA to take this into account before lashing out any more money.
Stop trolling!
 3.
I was looking for advice on selecting kit - and all you did was troll me. You did that on one of my previous threads. You are now blocked.
Trolling? Really? Where? Other threads? Show me. Man. Get back on the meds. A block? Yeah, a few gates would probably help with your PA issues too! :-p Good luck!
 4.
Well, "just saying" EBS freak that I have been setting up PAs in band for a long time. At least every other week for the last couple years. And for a long time before that. So, I guess I know what to do - so I have much more than basic skills and rudimentary knowledge. But thanks for your kind advice!
I would have thought then, you wouldnt be making the novice mistakes that you have talked about in this thread. If you read back through the thread, Ive tried to be nothing but helpful. Go buy your next piece of sh*t and get sh*tty results with that. Time doesnt equal skills gained if the time invested is learning bad practice. Its the same with playing the bass. If that rule stood, everybody on here would have many bass greats standing in their shadow. I repeat what I said earlier. Good luck. :-)
 5.
You appear rude.
Still stands though... Some rudamentary knowledge of how to use a PA would probably yield greater results than throwing more cash at the situation at this point. Just sayin'
 6.
Small company, not super equipped to deal with high demand surges.
7. [sup]
Vague hints they may be more than initially predicted. . .
[/sup] [sup]Mesa not keen on selling many then? [/sup]
 8. I don't want to appear rude here but I certainly would be looking into to some basic skills of using a PA before investing heavily.
 9. Ask Mr East - sounds like you may want to experiment dropping your pickups too.
 10.
I have a Korg DT2000 hooked up as follows:- Amp FX Send -> Korg rear input 1 Korg rear output 1 -> Amp FX Return That way I can use the mute switch on the tuner. There is absolutely no tone loss at all.
OH MY GOD! Not in the signal chain! Think of the tone loss man! Yeah, that aside, seems like a valid solution too!
 11.
Yeah - let's have an argument about it.
I'd rather not ta.
As the OP has an LH1000... no, it isn't. He needs to try out the options and see what works best for him.
Seems sensible.
 12.
But then you're including the tuner in your signal path... an A/B box would allow muted tuning.
You honestly telling me at a gig, that the tuner is going to have a massive impact on your tone? Pull the other one. It's how it's been designed to work. What would be better would be if there is a mute switch on the amp with a pass through to the tuner. But that's not going to help the OP is is?
 13. No, no, no! The mute is for a pedal so that you can remote mute the ouput from the tuner. Do this.. Bass -> Input 1 -> Using George Ls thin cable, go from Output on the rear of the tuner -> Input on your amp (If it's in a rack case, the George L is thin enough to go between rack units into the input of your amp. Then, using a latched mute, (or maybe unlatched mute - you'd have to read the requirements of the tuner), you can then press your pedal for silent tuning. Press agin, the ouput then becomes live again so the signal goes to your amp. PS There is no front tuner output.
 14.
Yamaha Attitude has low end??? Has anyone told Mr Sheehan?
Haha!
 15. 21db boost in the lows with my GBs. I win.
 16. UEs are great. Sennheisers are a bit hit and miss for me... But the ie8s are cool. Nice bass response. Its amazing how vastly different all the earphones can sound!
 17. http://www.acscustom.com/uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=39&Itemid=90 Here you go Nige. Must warn you... You may be about to embark on a costly path!
 18. Tx500? They are good but do cost you some treble... And they arent that hardwearing. But the comply tips are about as good as you can get before you get custom moulds. If you want to have a great fit, try some acs tips. I love iems. Im a bit of an iem whore. :-p Got some JH Audios coming soon!
 19. Macca's violin bass. That would do me. Got to be the most valuable, iconic bass. Ever.
 20.
I don't think you mentioned mixers, I assume you are happy with what you have?
Guessing he's using the ToneMatch as in the first post (that's the Bose mixer)
 21. Ps -10db inline attenuator will sort you if your di is causing you headaches. Ive recorded lots of times with my GBs with brilliant results. It depends on the headroom of the pres as to how well it copes with the output of the GBs. As said though, one inline xlr attenuator and no issues whatsoever. Just to clarify, theres no DI issues with this bass... Its only like running a synth volume flat out and then not expecting the preamp to clip! You may ask why so much boost and cuts within these preamps? Well... It certainly allows you to be a chameleon tone wise!
