1. PS. In some situations, VHF > UHF. Depends upon how crowded the frequencies are. If you want to go wireless (highly recommended) and want my advice on what to do, I'd say plump for the new generation digital stuff. Sony DWZB30GB, Shure GLXD, StageClix, Line 6 G30/50/90... More expensive, but sound better than a cable due the lesser capacitance associated with a cable. All these are full range digital systems running on the wi-fi band... so license free. I'm yet to hear of any problems associated running these out in the field. My band uses channel 38 and 2.4Ghz systems and neither have experienced any problems - and this is band doing 2-4 gigs a week in widely varying environments.
 2.
Thanks for that! So I guess the VHF Audio Technica is the worse out of the two, but the AKG UHF frequency is illegal. Perhaps I will just stick with the AKG for now until something happens, be it arrested or a phone call. Or maybe I will just stick with a lead!
Maybe this page will influence your decision... http://www.jfmg.co.uk/pages/Licence/licence.htm
 3.
After looking at this, does this mean the AKG is in fact illegal? http://www.whatpa.co...-allocation.asp
Correct. Basically, your options for general use are - http://www.jfmg.co.uk/pages/equip/Radiomics/exempt.htm Or Channel 38 for higher end stuff before going into leased frequencies.
 4. Is this one of those shred vids? It's very good.
 5.
Ah right, gotcha. I thought it was a letterbox.
It is. Multipurpose.
 6.
Where's the handle?
It's that big slot in the front. I think.
 7. <- Bit of a looker that Shane bloke.
 8.
I'm usually onstage in an old t-shirt and jeans, and not much of a looker - the Barefaced cabs are positively bling bling next to me(nobody is looking anyway).
You are Shane McGowan and I claim my £5.
 9.
All I can say is if you want people to recognise your bass from all the other Fender clones then put a legible logo on it.
Or hideous headstock shape.
 10.
A few of the strippers I have seen had bits falling off and would look better behind a mesh cloth too
Haha! Anyway.... Rootbeer!!
 11.
Buying anything new as an investment is probably a bad idea, then again I know a guy who paid £9k for a Jimmy Page les paul a while ago, Gibson reduced them to £7200 a few months after, then Led Zepplin reformed a few months later and he sold it for £12500 so what do I know?
Haha. Indeed. And this was the same guy that bought a John English Stealth and lost a load of money on it because he routed a humbucker into thd neck! Just shows he used that as a player rather than an investment!
 12. Anybody questioning his playing is a bit of a fool... He may not be a chops monster but he has a great feel and knows exactly how to place the beat. For example, check this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5ulSPzy2CA Fairly straight forward... but executed with absolute perfection. Relaxed but a perfect feel.
 13.

Oooh! Now that's nice! Available with tweeter?
 14. We all know that it's going to end up nailed to the wall in a pub...
 15.
I am close to chewing my own arm off waiting for mine.
Don't do that... mind you, less arms, should save wear and tear on the handles.
 16. [sup]I can't believe this bass is still for sale![/sup] [sup]I'd have it if it had the right number of strings![/sup] [sup]Here's a free bump![/sup]
 17. My question. Are you REALLY prepared to answer ANY question?
 18. eubassix made a nice little earner on that one... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251281014276#ht_292wt_988
 19. OBBM is great. Can't sing his praises enough. His "singerproof" XLR cable is still holding up perfect. Music wise, I can only recall paying full whack upfront for my inear monitors - but that's kinda understandabe. They'd be left with a product unique to me if I didn't pay the balance.
 20.
Tapping?
Mid set action check.
 21.
I still gig regularly in and around the Coventry/Midlands areas, and yes, I am, Fran Pettifer.....(the waistcoat, sadly, was stolen at a gig), I've sold the Bass Collection, and now use a Yamaha TRB5p.
Right. Next job. Lets find that waistcoat... or at least a like for like replacement.
 22.
I'm not suggesting anything - I just wondered whether people would think a builder would be in the wrong if something was damaged after it had left his workshop. By complete chance this has actually happened to me personally. Something was sent out in perfect condition, a buyer tinkered with it and caused some problems. He then said it was faulty when it arrived and asked for his money back. What made it worse was that he said it was faulty when I sent it and that I had deliberately misrepresented it when I put it up for sale. I took it back without getting involved in a protracted wrangle because it seemed easier and then had to pay to have the damage rectified.
Absolutely not. What was the fault?!
 23. Plenty of other threads to look at...
 24.
Hypothetically speaking. . . If I buy a bass that's been used and shows obvious wear marks that the builder tells me about, then I fiddle around with it and make it significantly worse, does that mean the guy who sold it to me is completely in the wrong and shouldn't have sold it to me in the first place?
Barrie - surely you arent telling me that the purchaser of this bass routed the horn like that.. then went to the trouble of refinishing it? The superglue would have cleaned up easy. Whether it was put there or not be JC, I cant believe it would have left the JC workshop without the glue being removed. All very odd.
 25.
Heh, heh. It would apply to everything I own now and in the future too, except for the BF cab I'm going to buy as soon as I've got the loot. I've wanted one ever since I borrowed Happy Jack's S12 for a few months and if paying up front for it is the only way it's going to happen, then so be it!
Theoretically then, if the BF operation went pop, there could be a lot of money owed. Why is this company working lile this? Im guessing it needs the money in order to pay for... something?
