1.
Yeah, brasso wadding on a thin drill bit? Then down to carnuba wax on a rag. Will have a rummage online before starting.
Or a wooden dowel. Just enough to get some wet and dry round and then some microfibre. Work through the grades first and then start polishing.
 2.
Trevor at PMT knows his onions
You think?
 3.
Yeah, I think clear pickguard is the way I'll go. Was looking at different cleaning materials, and methods, not really sure what cleaner to use, wondering if carnuba wax is enough. Will have a go over the weekend.
Canuba wax won't do it. You'll need something more abrasive than that, you'll probably want to find an offcut of acrylic to test on... but I would be looking at something as abrasive as brasso and then work with finer cutting compounds before giving it the final polish.
 4.
I'm going to shine them up as much as I can, so it may be worth it. Still undecided on pickguard material yet (sparkly or not) so I suppose that will be a deciding factor.
Shining up the routes is an easier than you think task. Long drill bits are your friend... just don't use them for their drilling properties. Perspex pickguard. Has to be done.
 5.
Mate, the body alone weighs as much, if not more than my Fretless Jazz - I'm hoping for some helium filled parts to finish it off
Hollow it all out and do the Metallica oil and water thing.

 7.
Thanks EBSF - it's so hard to compete with Thomann, their 860 staff & massive buying power. As a consumer I obviously appreciate that they use their clout to drive prices down but it does sometimes seem like they've taken a run at a few UK music retailers by undercutting them substantially. I've yet to meet a UK retailer who makes much real money out of his business and I certainly know a few who are barely able to keep their heads above water Hopefully what you get by going through a smaller 'local' business is informed advice, first class customer service, after sales help, good part exchange offers etc. However, there are some UK retailers who offer hardly any of this and still bleat about being stuffed by online businesses. I'm afraid I have very little sympathy for them Anyway, apologies for the off topic meanderings - my only excuse is that I'm helping a good friend out (totally unpaid) who owns one of the good UK bass retail specialists so that he can have a short holiday However - I can say that the Stageclix units are great. There's one set up here for people to listen through & it sounds excellent.
Ace post. I'm waiting to test drive a couple of new units that are due out out September and October. Seen the Stageclix units and I'm impressed with the electronics - they really work. Just not mad on the design of both the components.
 8.
Is it just me who thinks it looks like Japcrap?
Aw Wayne. I'm hurt. I'm a Jap Crap lover.
 9. £326.21 from Thomann. (of course you may want to support the above as it's UK based and a fellow BCer)
 10.
Do not pass go. Do not collect £100.
£200...
 11. Not my fave Caron track... but have to say... Awesome.
 12. When it comes to AAs, get some Eneloops and a decent charger. You'll thank me later. Best performing rechargables out there. Whats the range like on the StageClix? There's a couple of new wireless systems due out which may be worth hanging fire for - what sort of budget are you looking at?
 13. Oh wow. I thought I knew alot about Jims creations - but never have known anybody to have a Colt bass. Wow. Ive got a couple of Jims basses and guitars and they are ace. He was the most supreme pickup winder too. Sadly missed. Love the Colt.
 14. Sony DWZ-B30GB - looking forward to seeing this, although the published specs are a bit lacking at the moment. Looking an ace bit of equipment though. Just wondering how it compares to the Line6 Relay offerings. Want! I just love the look of Sony products.
 15. Thats my point - there isn't a pad on the transmitter...
 16. Just thinking - whats the input handling like on these things. I have very high output basses... will the Line6 transmitter input cope?
 17.
Just a heads up on Digital wireless..... It probably won't affect a lot of people here but those that play in corporate environments such as hotels where they have an extensive wireless wi-fi network. Sometimes these do cause interfereence with these and I'm aware of at least a couple of events where the users have been asked to not use their Digital systems as it has taken out the hotels network.
He he. Ace!
 18.

Cracking little basses - although it seems weird that given the light up controls.... it's passive?!
 19. I'm ashamed to say that I recognise the first one. She's fairly well travelled.
 20. We must hang out at the same sites... The swinging scene is not what it once was.
 21. Fresh strings is probably the best thing you could buy.
 22. I wouldn't have thought theres a lot in them but you should be testing them to see which one you like best. Are you going to be moving them around? The fact that one is 10kg lighter than the other may be a feature you like.
 23. Remember to get a non playing member of public in so they can tell everybody that they can't hear any difference.
