1.
Who is the bass player with Sam Sparro on his European Tour ? He uses Jazz basses. Saw him last night at the Manchester Deaf Institute, superb.
http://www.davewilderbass.com/
 2. ...should add... If you like them though, you should go for it. Afterall, we are all different and like different things.
 3.
I've not got one but played a fair few at Bass Direct, they definitely don't take too much to get used to but for me they are a solution to a problem I've never experienced and the cost of a Dingwall id want (above a Combustion) is currently beyond my means.
I have to agree. A solution to a problem that doesnt exist.... backed up by a marketing pack of physics mumbo jumbo. Its just like the hifi world...
 4. That looks to be a beaut. Nice.
 5. Here you go... http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=oRdxUFDoQe0#t=190s
 6. Indeed. Great pedal... but ultimately let down by it's user interface experience.
 7.
I've also got to give mad props to Alan at ACG, Paul at Wal and Bernie at GB - they all make astonishingly good instruments and you won't go too far wrong with any of them.
I'm a GB guy... I love the playability and electronics in them. To add though, as said, Sei, ACG, Wal... all great builders. You just need to find what suits you and what your budget is.
 8.
It's like nailing jelly to a wall.
What flavour...?
 9.
I would always go for two separate boxes over one large.
I would always go for 4 smaller boxes over one large.
 10. [sup]Its for a backup/travelling via dodgy airlines bass - but what I have done to it, depends upon cost.[/sup]
 11. ...and despite choosing woods for a specific tone, any luthier worth their salt will tell you that you'll never know how an instrument is going to sound until it's strung up and played.
 12. In that case, now we're talking. Have you got a latest pricelist?
 13. Just noticed you are in Isle of Wight - are you mr guitarfix.co.uk? (or what was as the site doesn't seem to be working for me now?)
 14. Installing LEDs when making a guitar is easy. What about retrofitting them? Retrofitting is actually a more sensible option because if an LED should fail, just try and remedy that with easy. With a retrofit, the LED comes out using the technique it went in with. If you cut a route before attaching the fingerboard into a channel, you try and fix that without major headaches. At the moment, you are talking theory. The brass tubing and fibre optic is industry standard - got any examples of your work?
 15.
Guys, I've done countless LED installs on guitars and basses, front and side. It's not as hard as everyone makes out. Yes it is a lot of work and a very high-risk job as you stand to completely ruin the guitar/bass if it goes wrong but it's definitely do-able with a half decent shed and some simple tools. Companies such as SIMS are very good but they charge far too much IMHO - and the price goes up for each LED you add. I don't do that. LED's are just pennies each and it's just as easy to fit 12 as it is 10. I'm not knocking SIMS though as they do excellent work and have an excellent reputation. Scott.
Go on... tell more...
 16.
I tried a matamp at bass day. They were just like any other bass amp really.
Interesting thought. I guess they are in the sense of you plug them, plug in a bass and they make noise... but comparing the sounds of say Trace, Ashdown, EBS, Matamp, SWR, Ampeg, MarkBass and Eden and trying to group them into one category seems a little illogical... unless you are a player that just makes do with a "sound" and gets on with it... They all have their own very distinct tones.
 17.
Agreed, just making sure that you knew in a similar price range they're available
In this price range, there's a lot available.
 18.
Or you could get an ACG
But that wouldnt be a Musicman Stingray.
 19.
Not sure of the profile of a Status Graphite neck but for £250ish you get a lot of benefits..
If graphite is what you want...
 20. Blonde singer has been taking dancing tip from tank top boy with rainbow stripe across it... (behind Bowie - first sighted at 1:03... but watch how he really gets into it as the song progresses...)
 21. I think the thread has gone slightly sidewise... yes, there are worse singers out there, bands which are less tight and so on - my point was just the abnoxious slap bass playing that is completely inappropriate for the tune.
 22.
A square of carpet underlay works for me.
Funny isn't it? All this gear and fundamental problems still remain - something which all lightweight heads suffer with!
 23. [sub]Is that burberry on the collar and cuffs of the guitarist?[/sub]
