1. Oooh. A 5er! White LEDs are pretty cool also.
 2.
Just been scouting the net. WOW, is guitarguitar super pricey! 2EQ Stingrays...some shops doing them for £1129 (these are the gigbag limited colour versions). They were £999 before Xmas. GuitarGuitar price? £1299. Crazy. For such a massive company, they will struggle at those prices.
Not really. Some geezer will walk in off the street, try it, like it, buy it. (they may even haggle a bit over price).
 3.
Anyone else have a Jim Cairnes?
Yup, I have a couple... and there's a couple residing with my friend in Wolverhampton...
 4.
Sei Flamboyant 6s have very narrow necks, IIRC.
Can't you specify exactly the size neck you want on a Sei? You just tell Martin what you want...
 5.
This
I like the blue on in the gallery on their website. The deal breaker for me is the circuit and the v contour of the neck - just feels really alien to my hands. String spacing and the like I can adjust to but that neck is a step too far. As for the circuit, I'm sure I could coax some great sounds out of it and no doubt it would be a great studio bass where you have the time to get your settings... but if you are playing live and need to say, up a little mids, I don't really want a wah pedal as my eq! Perhaps this is something you get used to in time... but with my time with a Wal, it just seemed a little... well, complex... for little advantage if any. Headstock on a Wal four, to me at least, is about as grim as they come... but the 5 headstock... well, I've always thought that was a bit of a looker. Always wanted a Wal after seeing Macca with one - and especially when there was the Beatles reunion thing with "Free as a Bird" on which I belive he played his Wal. Thing is, the lust didn't match the experience Whether they are worth the money... well, if you want a Wal, you will pay your price. To me, I wouldn't pay that money... but then again, they aren't my thing anymore.
 6. Bit of a rant but hey, I'm in that mood. So why is it when I try and give some shops my business and ask if they can get hold of certain bits and pieces (not of insignificant cost) they say that they can get hold of the bits but will need to give me a call back... but never do? I can't be bothered to chase things up if the shops aren't interested in a sale... so I do what everybody else seems to do - just go on line, point, click, credit card and wait for said products to arrive. Seems wrong that none of those people are interested in a sale. I'm all for supporting the shops but they don't seem to help themselves... yet rant that the internet is killing them. Beats me. Will say at this point, I had my first dealings with Darren at the Bass Merchant and he was great. Said he could get said items but there would be a delay as he had just put in an order with the supplier so the delay I would experience would be considerable before they could put in another order. Great honesty - he said I should probably try elsewhere, but if all things fail, he could sort me out. Now that's going the extra mile (I would have hated to pay my cash only to wait for months and months...)
 7.
Makes them sound better too!
Makes them sounds different.
 8.
How about these guys? You would be guaranteed something unique! http://www.outofthisswirled.com/
Don't think Al is spraying any customer supplied bodies now...
 9. I'm downsizing my rack. This SKB Case is in 9/10 condition and is like the following - Comes with rack clips. £70 + postage.
 10. I'm downsizing my rack. This power conditioner is in mint condition with zero rack rash. This version is the one with the LED lights (with dimmer) instead of the bulb version which were prone to failing. Details here - putting RRP at £183. I recall paying about £150 so I'll let this go for £70 + postage. NB, the power chord is currently attached to a rack panel (with a IEC plug socket on) so that it can be mounted to the rear of a rack. This will be included in the sale. PS not interested in being beaten down in price because it can go in my bits and bobs cupboard otherwise!
 11.
34". Or maybe 35" if you've got five or six pieces of string.
32" if you play one of those Mark King toys.
 12. Have you looked at your amp? Possible grounding problem? Take you cab out of the equation by trying it with a different amp.
 13. bow finishing, not the best website but amongst the best in the business.
 14.
I've watched the dirty loops vids more times than I'm prepared to admit and they've certainly given me TRB-gas! Having sold a Status 6 string not that long ago declaring that 6 strings just weren't for me, I'm considering a U-turn just to get 'that tone'.
It takes more than the bass to get 'that tone'.
 15.
The top woods look decent but the headstock shape looks fairly naff to me. I wonder what they sound like.
err... a jazz bass?
 16.
Sorry, don't get that one???
http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=142240
 17.
Part of the fun of having different instruments for me is the different look and feel each one gives me.
I think that was Adam Clayton's thinking at Glastonbury... except I think the only thing that changed on his were the paintjobs.
 18. Do you play for Ceelo Green by any chance?
 19. Just out of curiosity... what pickups are in there?
 20.
Anyone got any idea how much the original Yamaha TRB5 MK1's were when new...expensive? What do you think of these basses..
Let me guess, you watched the Dirty Loops vids and now you have TRB gas?
 21.
Just curious really.
I know of a guy who sold all his basses and pretty much uses just his Variax bass. He admitted himself that it's not an exact replica of everything. But good enough. Seems like that spoils the fun to me. I've never really dug the Variax shapes (bass or guitar) to be honest but have spent many hours looking at people's projects shoehorning the electronics into something more pleasing.
 22. Could be worse. You could have hairy gums.
