  1. 3 core orange mains flex is readily available!
  2. Don’t want to invest in military weapons? So no DSLR cameras, microwave ovens, cellphones, GPS (and satellite navigation), drones, the epi pen, duct tape and superglue, jet engines, portable radio, internet, night vision, blah blah… Investing in the the military and weapons is what has pushed technology into the commercial sector - some of these technologies would arguably have never come to exist without such investments.
  3. Two wrongs don't make a right and all that... ...but then again, you wouldn't bring a knife to a gun fight.
  4. My mate was on the radio this morning to talk about tributes with Nick Robinson and Nick from Pulp. Naturally, a fitting video was made to go with the interview.
  5. The story on how she got that gig is even more holy crap...
  6. I’m still confused how playing a bass is comparable to playing a synth. For extra context, I can play either (I know bass players that wouldn’t know what to do when presented with a keyboard and vice versa) and both have volume controls anyway?
  7. Find a drummer that doesn’t beach about being on an electric kit.
  8. You see, I find drummers genuinely a bigger problem than guitarists. They don’t even have to do a sneaky turn around to turn the volume up.
  9. Miriam Margolyes isn't really my type WoT, I think I'd find her a challenging w....*
  10. For those that don't know, Titanex HO7RN-Fn as used in the Custom Lynx solution, is mega. It's cable that is rubber to the touch, super, super flexible - and lies flat and doesn't kink up.
  11. Want your band to sound epic in a pub? Section 7 - https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/389429-the-iem-bible-thread/?do=findComment&comment=3944337 It's not big - but it is clever.
  12. He should stick to playing bass… …having said that…
  13. If you think that you have it bad, think about what your audience are experiencing.
  14. I get the safety thing - but nothing looks worse than a load of white multigangs or brightly coloured cables sprawling across the stage. Yes for the lawnmower. No for the stage. Although @stingrayPete1977has a valid point - nobody is in a rush to nick bright orange cables.
  15. I do find these conversations interesting. Twitter is full of it - I tend to keep off there nowadays. All these people that say that they haven't got a problem with women, there's no misogyny - go appoint a woman as England mens football manager and just watch the fireworks. Adam Clayton probably hasn't got a problem with women - but his conversation - and the normalisation of it, is fuelling the thoughts and influencing the next generation to think that this is OK.
  16. This thread is more interesting than his basslines to be fair.
  17. http://www.mxdwn.co.uk/news/nadine-shah-takes-exception-with-adam-clayton-comment-on-bass-players-being-the-men-of-the-band/ I just watched the clip found via the link above. Typical male bravado stinky poo-talk that really should have died out by now. I don't know her music. Dont care for his. But I imagine that if I was female, I'd be pretty tired of still hearing this rhetoric. Bringing gender into music. For crying out loud. He should go back to playing his jazz. In reality, I guess, unless you are female, you can't really say how this would impact you - and if you are a bloke on a bass forum, then your opinions probably shouldn't count for anything anyway. The sooner that men stop telling women what their role should be, how they should feel etc... the better the world will be.
  18. Vote for the Hugo 8 way here - https://cpc.farnell.com/brennenstuhl/1150613318/extension-skt-surge-8-way-anthracite/dp/PL13410 Daisy chaining them is fine - there's nothing really in a modern band that draws enough power to worry about (unless you are still using old school lighting)
  19. Have a read of this - if there's still questions, ask away!
