  1. For monitoring, you want everything to be pre fader - this means that if you change the sliders on the front of house mix, it doesn't impact your monitor mixes. If you have mixes as post fader, then changes out front will impact your monitor mixes... which is obviously not ideal.
  2. Generally you won't want reverb in your monitor mixes, especially when singers are involved as it can throw off the ability to pitch. Anyway, what you'll need to do is put the fx return into your aux mix.
  3. It's part of the transition - but can you disclose more about how you feel self-conscious? Is it because you can hear any little mistakes a lot more clearly?
  4. Also, IEM is not FRFR - IEMs are far from what you'd call flat.
  5. There seems to be a big misconception here about FRFR. Basically, FRFR is a means of hearing your signal without any further influencing factors that will otherwise change your basses tone. Whereas traditional bass cabs tend to have their own prebaked sound that influences your tone, a FRFR amp/cab setup does not. If you want to emulate a speaker cabinet, then you have to do so - typically via modelling. Likewise, your pre is what is doing your tone shaping and the FRFR output phase has no further influence.
  6. So many finishes I love... but for me, I keep coming back to WHITE - and it looks the best under stage lights (IMHO)
  7. To be fair, from a processing point of view, it's probably a bit of a step up from the Mackie.
  8. Now That's What I Call an 80s Tribute Band.
  9. Scratch that. I guess a Xennial's mixtape would actually contain 90s. Xennial nursery rhymes
  10. As great as Jamiroquai are, for me at least, they have never been the same since the departure of Smith (RIP ) and Zender.
  11. How do you play? By remembering patterns?
  12. This thread needs a before and after pic!
  13. Tinnitus is pretty banging too!
  14. Section 4 - https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/389429-the-iem-bible-thread/?do=findComment&comment=3944328
  15. What headset mic are you using? What is your AKG Transmitter/ Receiver setup. If it's analogue, you may be running the input on the pack too hot. Have you discounted a lav setup?
  16. Amp modellers (HX stomps), a little suitcase (on wheels) with all the cables in, two tops, two speaker stands and whatever mic stands you need. Done. Let the drummer figure out for themselves that a smaller kit miced through a PA sounds better and is easier to carry. X touch and P16Ms are tiny and light - not an issue to carry.
  17. Removing the amps completely is a preferable option.
  18. The niggle will go away with P16Ms - it the reason why I'm suggesting the XR18 - it gives you an upgrade path over time as money allows. The XR18 is enough to get you going but wont prevent you going stereo for cheaper, unlike other options with a fixed number of auxes, or without any network monitoring solutions (which will be way more expensive than the Behringer option). RCF745s? Absolutely.
  19. Behringer XR18 with external router. Why? Primarily because there's a nice upgrade path and you aren't just stuck with what you can get for £500. For example - Move people off auxes onto P16Ms (via the XR18s ultra net) as and if funds are available. You will HATE mono mixes once you've had stereo. If other people don't mind what they have never had, this may be a solution for yourself if you want stereo. An X-Touch unit will get you physical faders, as faders are still better than tablet screens for quick changes.
  20. That’s probably a given. Drummers never get the limelight! Although he did get a camera on a slider. It’s all good learning though. Considering these are the first two proper gigs I’ve done, I’m pretty chuffed. Out again at the weekend - in a marquee this time - to see what I can do in there.
