  1. FRFR - full range, full response. In other words, completely flat and characterless. You create your sound up front and the sound that comes out the speaker is not influenced of the speaker. You want the sounds of different speakers? - then they are modelled - and then sent to the FRFR speaker. Means you can carry around a virtual set of speaker cabs whilst only physically having to carry one FRFR cab to reproduce it all.
  2. You don’t want to play bass, you want to play synth!
  3. It does say at start, listen with headphones - but as you say, reviewing speakers in this manner of YouTube doesn’t really give much away. Theres too many attributes that can influence the sound in play here - eg the mic, it’s placement (close placement is giving the sound of the speaker and not the cab) it’s mix (with other mics (so introducing the influence of the room sound) and DI) post processing and compression on YouTube... (And as you say Bill, your own setup at your end will influence the sound you are hearing). But you know all this. The only thing I really took away from this review is that the 10 may not fart out when pushed in the lows. But I don’t really know what was happening in terms of boost on the bass and amp or how hard it was being driven... so... I’m not even sure I can take that away.
  4. Yeah, probably not the best when you are a reviewer! Some nice playing on display - however, to my ears, there was a heavy bias on the DI feed when they did the blended mix. Im not even sure the room mic was having any significant input on the blend mixes, even the ones without the DI. It was all coming from the close mic? (so for at least two of the cabs, the enclosure that the speaker is in doesn't really matter - as they are close micing the same speaker).
  5. “Apparently, it's even more responsive, more accurate than a flat response normal cab. It's extra accurate, precise something or others." Umm.... "it will self adjust to what ever power you are putting through it" Huh?
  6. No - and if it did, they wouldn't be in office the next day to tell the story.
  7. "short term" "long term benefits" - does that mean in our life time or not? Im sure we'll be able to look back in 150 years time from now and be commenting on a thread on bass chat how in hindsight, everything ran perfectly.
  8. It comes to something when you watch the politicians on television and you aren't sure whether it's the politicians inspiring Spitting Image... or the the other way around.
  9. I wonder if they'll find anybody to clean it up... or whether the "stay at home" mantra will be more appealing to those in the frame?
  10. Just going to throw it in there... you know that the touring companies that were UK based and hauling gear across the EU for a living are now going to be sat at home whilst an EU company takes over because it's easier for them to cross boundaries... right? It's not just the people on the stage that are impacted...
  11. Gigging starts in May, apparently.
  12. Im not surprised - but the difference is the UK has a GDP of $2.638 trillion vs $366 billion of the Norway. So whatever deal making is on the table for Norway, it's going to be more difficult for them to broker anything more than a little.
  13. And look at all the time that was left for all the computer systems - that run the very economy on which the country relies - to be implemented/recoded. Irrespective of the deal, the specifics of the deal were needed 18-24 months ago.
  14. Elephant in the room. For what gigs? Hopefully it'll get sorted properly soon though. I did find it interesting that on this page - https://www.ism.org/advice/eu-work-permit-requirements-for-musicians it was found that 78% of musicians report to perform in the EU at least once a year. I really find that hard to believe - or are those figures based on musicians who put through their summer holidays as a music related business trip for tax relief? Anybody else comprehend that figure to be extraordinarily high?
  15. You missed the bit where I also said XR18, P1, P2, ZS10s... in fact, I would wager most of the products in there have a touch point with China.
  16. you’ve got to allow time for the government covid test register to monitor who is going to be allowed in pubs first... of course, it will be world class and so accurate that nobody will be allowed in...
  17. Although I am slightly disappointed that they failed to shoehorn the word "synergy" in there.
