  1. Still waking up. Yeah, I did the transcription for it a long time ago - bit of a work out. It's not really a bass line - it's a keys bass, courtesy of Greg Phillinganes.
  2. Surprised neither of these have surfaced yet.
  3. Just paste the link in and it should auto embed.
  4. I think the ever decreasing opportunity of sale or return for shops mean that they just can't afford to stock the inventory to begin to compete effectively. As I say, distributors don't want the overhead, they just want to shift boxes.
  5. I loathe those things... and their "unexpected item in packing area"... and the game of trying to get it all to balance properly. ANNOYING. And then if you buy something age restricted, you are left hanging around anyway for the one person who is on duty to go off and get their manager because they aren't old enough to authorise the sale. I avoid whenever I can.
  6. You wouldn't have thought so. But people do. I guess its the time involved on building up the coats over time as opposed to spraying poly. Either that, or marketing.
  7. When you see the necks, you'll immediately get it. Poly vs oiled finish - and quarter sawn vs flatsawn. I guess the rest of it down to licensed vs US hardware... and the fact one is subject to US manufacturing costs and the other isn't. The US market are very keen to buy US - even if that means paying a lot more for minimal gains it would seem.
  8. This is what bricks and mortar need to adapt to. PA hire/teaching is a great value add service - and gets people physically into the shop so sales people can go - "Hey, have you seen this piece of kit?". It's a mercenary shopper who will then go elsewhere to save a tenner if they have built a good relationship with the shop. Thing is, most shops and distributors aren't so keen on that model. Like everybody, it's become more about shifting boxes.
  9. Its a valid point - however, the ability to record at 24/192khz is the big difference and the preamps are far, far superior than the XR18. For capturing demos and live performances, the XR18 is unquestionably the best bang for buck.
  10. Climax Blues Band. and yes, there’s an underlying feud in regard to an original member that now wants to stake claim on the name...
  11. I was wrong. I meant Gen Z not Millennial. I'm a Millennial, just. But I guess more later Millennials are still edging towards shopping online. So I guess the statement from earlier still stands.
  12. A great bass. If you like jazzes, it's just a nicely made jazz bass, albeit with a little different shape.
  13. You see, I was kinda with you... but the trouble is, Amazon do it so well. It's next delivery. It's no quibble returns. It can be cheap - and there's a selection of vendors to choose from for some products. Amazon will even gift you vouchers to keep you happy and retain your business. They don't need to bother with coffee - because you can your own choice of coffee from your own house. They don't give your the faux smarm salesmen routine. And during lockdown, they can still carry on the same with no interruption. They adapted adapted far better than any other commerce site to ensure that their logistics were not impacted by Covid for example. I'm not saying it's right or wrong - but you aren't going to convince the millennials to shop any other way. This is part of the change. There's people who want the High Street - because it's always been there in their lifetime. The millennials? Well, they don't care. They live their lives online. Why should shopping be any different? Most millennials won't even realise the issues as long as they can continue to "add to bag", get it the next day - and then review it on Youtube.
  14. Crumbs, we got back our borders. What more do you want? The moon on a stick?!
  15. It's all there. Just read it. Not much wow at all. Mostly all relevant.
  16. Just wanted to be absolutely clear on the rules.... not these fuzzy guidelines that the government seem to....
  17. And other non EU countries that traded with the UK based on the UK being a member of the EU...
  18. Have you literally just by passed the whole of the discussion to write that? It's been explained why buying British isn't as easy as just buying British. York Notes - Britain hasn't really got a wealth of raw materials and isn't a power house when it comes to manufacturing.
  19. In the link in page 1. But yeah, that’s one of the changes.
  20. Not quite. But one of the main issues is that there has no time to code a system to prepare for EU exit and for all interconnecting EU services to to integrate with the CDS system (Customs Declaration Service).
