  1. Indeed. Will be watching how this one pans out. This venue has quite a bit planned in its calendar.
  2. Working out that good then? The UK can’t be trusted to do anything right.
  3. Excellent work.
  4. Oh for sure. Maybe next time, I'll tap the tour manager on the shoulder... psst, you do realise you could get this off eBay much cheaper?
  5. They're called submarines. I think.
  6. Build quality, balanced outputs, encryption, range, RF stability and dual diversity, discrete tuning, more intermodulation free operating frequencies (more channels using less spectrum), low latency, dynamic range, IP rating, ethernet configuration for remote configuration and monitoring, international spares availability, digital outputs (e.g. Dante) for audio over IP... just some of the differences that come to mind!
  7. Oh man. That brings back bad memories. I got covered in err... lube, baby oil or whatever it was... when I got caught in the "flicking of the di*k" routine whilst packing up my bass gear once. Hen parties. Not great.
  8. Flesh coloured. Blends nicely.
  9. I've just landed my first strip club gig so I guess you could say that I'm in the same boat.
  10. Plot twist. Band is rehearsing. With a different bassplayer. Has @MacDaddygot a new band already?
  11. You don’t need to be with other people to keep enhancing your craft. Get some practice on, learn more theory. Open up the fretboard so when the opportunities arrive, you are a much better player. Sitting in a room with musicians won’t bring on your playing if nobody is pushing the boundaries of their own playing. I get the whole thing about playing for enjoyment - but there’s a hell of a lot of things that we can’t do normally at the moment... but we can make the most of what we do have.
  12. Having read the exchange back numerous times, I have to say you come across a little passive aggressive too.
  13. Let me address the elephant in the room... rehearse.... for what gigs? at the moment it’s not really worth falling out over. It’s not as if there’s gigs aplenty - and if there are gigs, it’s not as if they are well attended.
  14. Steve Zissou is alive and well!
  15. That doesn’t surprise me - it sounded very flat to me hence why I was intrigued to see if there was any preamp trickery involved.
  16. Not the sort of stuff I’d normally listen to but super nice sounding rig- I can see why you are digging on your setup. What you using on your Helix? The combination with the hollow body is really doing it.
  17. And Trans-Island Skyway. There was a phase where Eric Clapton Unplugged was going its bit selling hifi and surround set ups... and one of the live Pete Gabriel DVDs (forget which one)
  18. Hell freezes over version of Hotel California.
  19. The cat doesn't even need a strap, let alone strap locks.
  20. You should see it when it's not on the headstock.
  21. Swiss. You can kinda make excuses because they probably can't figure out how cringe it is in translation. But yeah, the logo. Sheesh.
  22. Speaking of Kick Ports.. OK, this is something that is bought by drummers because they hear demos like this. HOWEVER, listen carefully to the Kick Port sample. Just listen to the amount of low end rumble and sustain that it gives. EXACTLY what you don't want in the majority of venues. OK, you could tame it with a gate... but lets face it, most people find it difficult enough to EQ let alone set up a gate properly.
  23. I regularly deploy a RT30k instead of a mic on flabby kick drums. From that I trigger a kick drum sample, or a kick drum sample with sine if there's subs. You'll be amazed at what you can do with tech and how good it sounds. However, most people are still stuck in the dark ages.
  24. Jeez, look at me dropping all my top tips... and killing the fun of live music for everybody (apart from the audience).
