I'd suggest next thing you need to do is eliminate the string itself as the cause of the problem. Get a new set of strings on and see if that sorts it out
That's what I figured... new strings ordered...I'm just not to fond of the very bright new string sound...but hey ..needs must cheers

what can cause a drop in volume on one individual string, its happening on my A string,I have tried adjusting for saddle hight with pick up hight & even thought I would try the frequency range on my EQ channel,The strings are all from the same set although they are old..but why a loss of volume over one string...?
the only major one I can think of is widening the nut grooves for the new strings.
yep thats what i figured..& the corvette has no changeable nut,its an integral part of the headstock (just one downside of this model)

i posted this a few months ago over on another forum but would like to hear more thoughts or ideas, i have a standard 4 string Corvette Rock bass & looking into the idea of using the 4 low strings of a 5 string set but only tuned to D,E,A.D, & as the 5 string gauge of string is usually to be tuned B,E,A,D.G would this require any neck adjustment

Here's the thing, i have a 34 scale length bass with through body design however measuring from the g string tuning post to the back of the bridge the length is 41 inch,so i need long strings to include a couple windings around the post & the extra at the other end to pass through the body, & without spending alot of cash trying to find the right strings to fit, i hope someone here has a similer set-up & may share some thoughts on this... pic below is European Music Express (EMEX) Romaxe,
the start of the story certainly seems his heart (wallet) is in the right place.... however I think he just did it to get the bass. lets face it we are all human and we all want what we desire...if such a thing comes along then you well do what it takes to get it if its in your means to do so.
thats rather cynical...& i can slightly understand in todays world/mindset ..but i think to give benifit of doubt to Trujillo..who does seem to be a genuine kind of guy,he has a passion & upmost respect for people,it is likely he has done this as a kind & thoughtful act....& has the oppotunity to place his hands on an awesome piece of history

Ok, here is an original 1982 mkII Tom Scholz Power Soak (Attenuater) for tube or solid state (Switchable),fully working order & in original condition (that is used not abused) so not mint & shiney, does just as it says on the tin, Will attenuate from full power, -3db incrementally down to -32db for headphone use,& ohm selector 16,8 & 4 Please be aware that this is primarily used for Geetars & so is rated for use upto 110W for tube & 120W solid state amps, but has been known for use with smaller Bass amps £85 inc p+p
