2. We bought the T Bone IEM off Thomann last year. We use it for vocals only and its been fine. Cant compare it to anything else as its the only IEM we have used.
 3. What i do, is on the second time you play the riff with the extra B at the end, instead of playing the B hammer on from the A. Sounds close enough and noone will notice anyway.
 4. Another one for Paul Simonon.
 5.
Ask a basschatter in his local area to kick him in the nuts?
ok i'm looking for a basschatter who stays near Westbury in Wiltshire, with at least size 10 feet, a pair of steel toe cap boots would be handy as well.
 6. A couple of incidents come to mind. A guitarist mate of mine bid and won a Marshall 4x12 at a really low price. Paid, and no cab turned up. After a couple of weeks and several emails the 4x12 was re-listed. My mate at the end of auction put in highest bid which was significantly higher than the first time won and didn't bother paying. after dozens of emails from the seller he eventually sent him a email saying frustrating isn't it. Also i have just had my first real problem with ebay. I bid and won a pair of B&W HI-FI speakers for £10. after about a week, seller sent a message saying sorry he had not sent speakers as his Wife had just had a baby and he had been really busy, but had sent them that day. I replied saying ok and congratulations. Another week past and still no speakers. sent him message saying this, he said they should have arrived by now. another week still no speakers, i ask him for a tracking number which he sends but not which company. I ask which company and he replies his wife sent them and he thought it was parcel force. Now i'm getting alarm bells as he said his wife just had a baby and then hes sent her out with a pair of heavy speakers to the PO. I check the tracking with parcel force and it turns out they were dropped off at the PO the day i had asked for the tracking number. Anyway they turned up today, and are a cracking pair of speakers. What should i do regarding the seller, any ideas.
 7. He's the reason i picked up a bass.
 8.
Hi Guys, just for info , I went to the Keswick beer festival in the Lake District last week on friday 3rd June, and saw two really good covers bands 1. "The Moobs" really nice sounding bass player ...Jetglow Ricky played with a pick through Ampeg backline. Nice and tight with the drummer playing Foo fighters, Killers , Jam... just a tad too low in the mix, but thats the soundmans job.. who was i but a drunken punter to tell him to turn the bass player up a bit ?? 2. "Earth Wind For Hire" , again great fingerstyle bass player using what looked like a 5 string EBMM stingray, didnt catch the backline so could have been DI`d. Great disco bass tone covering some Chic, Bernard Edwards etc. If you were one of these players and member of the Basschat bretheren .. well done. I couldnt get tickets for saturday 4th so can`t comment of the bands for that night.. anybody else get there ?? For all others its a really great yearly festival of good beer, set against a stunning backdrop which i can highly recommend ... that was my 3rd year there. regards Keith M
Are you sure the first band were called the moobs and not the Mass. We have played with the mass a couple of times before and they have a bass player who plays a Ric into an Ampeg with a pick and i know they were playing Keswick beer festival this year. He's a big, well built bloke, shaved head about 50.
 9. I'll take it, how would you like to be paid.
 10. My 6 yr old daughter just had her first piano lesson last night. she is now teaching me theory.
 11.
Mine also specifies single items over £500.I did have problems with one insurance company who didn't get the fact that a 1978 Fender Precision got MORE valuable as it got older rather than it depreciated..
I would just tell them, you'll save them a few quid, and give me a 63 as a replacement.
 12. Nice one.
 13. One little thing that i do during the intro guitar goes through chord sequence twice. Then do 0-2-0-4-057 on the G string. then straight into the D. Pretty much all the other fills have been covered previously. Ash.
 14. Joe strummer used to use what he called a strum guard. Two or three wrist bands bound with gaffa. Was used to stop arm getting shredded and the blood clotting up the pick ups. Ash

 16. Thanks for everyones help,. I've been PM'd by someone who will sort all my problems. Cheers Ash.
 17.
Brand new Fender stuff is about 9mm high but it's probably a bit springier than the air foam, and it'll depend how high you want your pickups. Put a few layers in and see if it works I guess!
Ok trial and error it is. Thanks for everyones help. Ash
 18.
I've used all kinds of leftover foam over the years, some loses it's springyness really quickly but if you put the right amount in and don't need to adjust the height of your pickups too much it works fine. Best free stuff is the whitish / clear foam that feels like it has air in it, used as packing on edges of kitchen worktops and sometimes it's layered up to make it thicker.
I think i know the stuff you mean. just cut it to size and how thick would it need to be, 1 inch or so.
 19.
Hi Ash Re the pickup height adjustment, sounds to me like either there is no foam rubber underneath it, or if there is, its lost all its "sponginess". Way forward is try and find some from somewhere. These guys are very good, http://www.efoam.co.uk/foamshapes.php?cp_n...CFdD-2AodDnBdOg Dunno what thickness you`d need, maybe other posters have that info, or contact Fender directly? When I`ve bought Fender pickups before, it seemed that the foam padding was about 2cm/1inch thick. Lozz
Ok cheers will need to have a proper look, make sure no foam there but i never seen any when i had a quick look. Ash
 20.
The pickups probably have black spongy stuff under them (on a copper earthing plate in the pickup recess) and if the pickup has been lowered so much for a long time it may have lost it's springyness. You may need to completely remove the pickups and replace the foam, although the old stuff may recover it's shape eventually. Have a look in the Repairs and Technical area of this forum, there's a list of parts suppliers (pinned at the top) who will have replacement Fender scratchplates, although I'd be tempted to try to fix the original if possible if the bass has a roadworn mojo look about it.
Ok cheers, will need to have a proper inspection. It certainly has a road worn look about it.
 21.
Most pbasses have foam under the pups to lift them when you adjust....the ones on this bass are probably perished and have lost their elasticity.
I took scratchplte off to have a look just the screws there, no foam. What kind of foam is it? can you but it anywhere. Ash
 22. I have just got myself a 78P Bass. Which seems to have had quite a hard life. The pick ups are sitting practically level with the scratchplate and need raised. However when i raise the pickup screws they lift up but the pickup remains still. I thought there might be a spring over the screw, behind the pickup to help raise the pickup but any diagram i have seen has no spring. Can anyone help me resolve this problem. Also the scratchplate is cracked and needs replacing, where would be the best place to get a replacement. Oh i forgot to say it's a lefty. Apart from these two problems and a decent set-up, it plays and sounds fantastic. Thanks for any help Ash.
 23.
What do you mean by satellite mode? Are all the speaker cones working? But it sounds like they are If my memory is correct the Actors are 3 cabs a side, active bin, a passive bin and a mid top active box, I beleave the crossover for the subs is in the bin itself not 100% sure though. Is the mid top cab ok without going through the Subs? You could take the amps out and check for any loose connections and blown fuses anything other than that use a qualified engineer. It also could be the crossover.
I think i have caused some confusion here. What we where using is a pair of full range active speaker[see below].One of which did not work in normal full range mode. But when linked to the other working full range speaker as you would if it were a bass bin worked o.k. although not full power as it was acting as a bass bin. I hope this clears up any confusion. 24.
I would think it’s the amp as there is no sound from the speaker and if it was the input there should be a slight hum or hiss, unless the other speaker is silent without anything plugged in
there is a slight hiss from the ok one. If it was the amp, surely there would be no sound when we wired it up as a bass bin either. but it worked ok then.
