1. Now here's something you don't see everyday! First off, I have to say that this is NOT a genuine Fender but is in fact a fantastic replica custom made by Musikraft. The original owner had an original 60s Bass V and wanted a fretless version so he took his original one to Musikraft and asked them to replicate it which they duly did. It does have a genuine 60s Fender Bass V string retainer and neck plate (with serial number), the pickup cover is also genuine Fender but a modern version from the Marcus miller jazz . When i acquired it, it was natural but I refinished it in Lake Placid Blue nitro and fitted an original logo. The finish is deliberately lightly reliced, some minor dings and the finish itself is worn so don't expect a perfect modern finish but it does really look the part! It has EMG P and J pickups and volume volume tone controls. Also comes with a black scratchplate. It plays and sounds great, the ebony fingerboard is in great condition and very little wear. Am looking for [s]£750[/s] £650,no trades I'm afraid as I need to raise cash. Can be picked up from High Wycombe or Staines (near Heathrow) or van be posted in the UK for £25 fully insured with UPS. Pics to be added shortly (upload doesn't seem to work on my phone)
2. Hi, thanks it is a lovely bass! Width at the nut is 55mm, let me know if you need any other info.
3. Best Yammy bass ever IMHO and actually very flexible in terms of sound for me - I have one that's very similar and love it.
4. Sadly my hands are just too small for this beauty so I'm going to stick to 5 strings! Last time I tried to sell this I mentioned some problems with the previous preamp, I have now removed the old (Seymour Duncan) preamp and replaced it with a brand new John East MMSR preamp which sounds a lot better! And obviously works perfectly. Much simpler controls, just volume, bass and treble. Please note some of the photos show the old knobs still attached (you can spot this by the stacked control), the newer photos have the non-stacked knobs. This is a very rare Larrivee RB2, serial number 8888, made in 1989 as confirmed by the factory. It appears that the scratchplate (which is solid maple itself) is a retrofit but it's done to a very high standard, you'd certainly believe it left the factory like that. Under the scratchplate it looks like it was originally routed for 2 x P-style pickups but the subsequent routing for the EMG is definitely under the finish so I believe that was done by the factory and again certainly looks to have been done professionally. It has a through-neck and a flame maple top, finished in a gorgeous shade of blue that goes a bit purple on the back. Fretboard is ebony and is bound - how many sixers do you see with that! Original Schaller tuners. Some minor dings and buckle rash on the back as per the pics but nothing on the neck or on the front of the bass. Has one missing screw from the control plate on the back. String spacing at the bridge is 14mm Lovely high end bass that's very rare and unusual. Can be picked up (or tried out) in High Wycombe or around Heathrow/Staines area, otherwise will be shipped fully insured with UPS in the UK. No hard case but comes with gig bag and will be packed inside a proper guitar carton with lots of bubble wrap. What would convince me trade wise would be a Status 5 string, G&L L5000,Yamaha BB5000 (ideally BB5000A), Ricky or Vigier 5 strings. I'd also be convinced to put money into a deal involving a Pedulla 5 string, fretted or fretless. Otherwise, I'm looking for [s]£699 [/s]£599

Delete
5. Ben bought my Squier Jazz V, top bloke and great comms, excellent transaction all round. Recommended!
6. "word worth nothing" is a bit harsh. Apologies were provided and I understand the disappointment but I had given first refusal to someone else. It just so happened that he changed his mind after initially not having the money and given the hassle of international postage plus the fact that I work with him every day, it was safer for the bass to go to him. I am sorry that this happened and hope you find another bass.
7. Hi definitely more of a P, 42mm at the nut. Hope this helps, it's a lovely player.
8. Beautiful bass which I had the pleasure of trying out last week - great sound, look and feel, sadly I have subsequently fallen in love with a Pedulla... BTW Dan is a top bloke too so buy with confidence!
9. According to the Yamaha serial number dater: Date: July 22nd Year: 1962, 1972, 1982, 1992, or 2002 Unit: 006 I believe therefore this was the 6th bass built in 1992!
10. It's 4.4kg according to my bathroom scales and built in 1983 according to the Yamaha serial number dater. Cheers
11. Hi it's 4.3kg according to my bathroom scales, I'll check out the serial number shortly and put up the date if I can find it Cheers
12. This is an absolutely stunning example of (to my mind) one of the greatest 5 string basses ever and it's in near mint condition, just one tiny dink on the back near the battery case (see pic). Flame maple body in translucent orange with ebony fingerboard and through neck construction. PJ pickups plus piezo in the bridge gives huge amount of flexibility. 18.5mm string spacing, original hardshell case and original manual included. Made in Japan in 1992. [s]the 1980s, don't know the exact year sadly.[/s] Strung E-C with Rotosound TruBass at the moment but no changes to the nut so very easy to put back to B-G if you prefer. Given the condition, originality and rarity I think £750 is a bargain (but you may disagree :-)); can be picked up (or tried out) in High Wycombe or around Heathrow/Staines area, can also be shipped for £30 within the UK (fully insured with UPS) or £60 within EU (again fully insured with UPS) - will be packed inside a proper guitar carton with lots of bubble wrap. I'm selling a few basses at the moment to finance a new one - trying to get from having lots of basses to just 1 or 2. I might be tempted if you have a 5 string Pedulla, Rickenbacker or Status with cash into the deal from my end but ideally I'd like a straight sale.
