  1. Just thought it might stick in the mind given how unusual it is! This definitely is a transparent blue with flame maple top so fairly certain it's not your old one, the paint doesn't look like a refinish and it's unlikely they'd paint a solid colour over a lovely flame top (unless they took a leaf out of Gibson's book :-)) UMIST is my alma mater, sadly they never had a guitar show when I was there!
  2. Hi - if yours was serial number 8888 then it's the same one! :-) I picked it up on eBay a while back because I loved the look but sadly my hands are just too small.
  3. Just re-measured and it's more like 14mm but yes, it is tight. Comfortable and easy to play though, string spacing is pretty consistent all the way up the neck, gets to 9mm at the nut.
  4. Couple of interesting trade offers so far but have got my eye on something else so would prefer the cash hence price drop! What would convince me trade wise would be a G&L L5000,Yamaha BB5000 (ideally BB5000A), Ricky or Vigier 5 strings.
  5. I can always take one off? :-) It is actually strung E-C so quite easy to get used to (compared to B-G).
  6. For sale: a customised Squier Jazz Bass V which I've repainted in nitrocellulose Burgundy Mist (from Manchester Guitar Tech) and affixed a Fender logo to. I've always loved Guy Pratt's burgundy mist Jazz but as I play 5 stirng (erm, and also can't afford an original custom colour Jazz) I thought I'd have a go at recreating it. It's come out pretty well I think, there is some deliberate relicing and I've oversprayed a bit on the back of the headstock but it looks good to me! Was planning to fit EMGs to finish the look but the stock Duncan Designed pickups sounded great so I've kept them on. Rear of the headstock still has the Squier serial number - it's not pretending to be anything other than a Squier with a Fender logo but just for the avoidance of doubt, this is not a real Fender. Has genuine Fender pickup cover though on the neck pickup - this is from the Marcus Miller V Plays great, sounds great, looks great. Hopefully someone else can give it a home as I just don't have the space anymore (apparently :-)) More pics available upon request. [s]£175[/s] £150 collected from High Wycombe or Heathrow/Staines area, or can be shipped for £25 in the UK or £50 within the EU with UPS.
  7. Pete bought myYamaha BB1025X - it was a perfect transaction all round and I'd highly recommend trading with him. Cheers!
  8. I've decided to sell my beloved but unused Yamaha BB1025X as sadly my other Yammys get all the attention and this is too good to just sit in a corner. It has the best set of passive pickups I've ever heard and is in truly fantastic, "as new" condition, no scratches or dinks from what I can see. No fretwear either. It comes with the original high quality gigbag and I'm fairly sure I've still got the original cardboard box that it came in. I think £475 is a fair price given the condition. It's 4.6kg according to my bathroom scales. Can be picked up from High Wycombe or Staines, also happy to meet up within a reasonable distance of either of those places, just message me to agree upfront. Alternatively I can post for £25 insured in the UK; if you're further away, message me to discuss. Not really looking for trades at the moment, sorry. 9. is it a 5 string though? If not, then I doubt it will fit as the pickup is larger on mine...
  10. This might be a long shot but does anyone have a white Squier Precision Bass V scratchplate that they want to swap for a tortoiseshell one? I have a tort one in excellent condition but I'd like a white one :-)
  11. Just waiting to hear back from the luthier bump...any interest?
