1. Thanks - and you're absolutely right sorry, completely forgot that this is a wood/phenolic mix - it was a new thing at the time and it looks and feels lovely. If you ever want to sell that S1 unlined fretless 5.... Joe
That's very classy. Then I would say that as I have an S1, unlined fretless, 5er . Is that fingerboard really phenolic ? I thought phenolic was always black. (Just idle curiosity I'm afraid ... like you, I think, I pretty much stuck on 5ers). Andy
2. For sale - my pride and joy - Status S1 Custom. This was a custom order for me - details as follows: figured walnut top single pickup 18V active circuit active/passive switch (all of the above were non-standard options) unlined phenolic fretboard graphite bolt on neck Really is in mint condition. I have gigged it 2 or 3 times but it has always been extremely well cared for and has lived in its case when at home. No marks on it at all. Always been strung with flatwounds. Comes with original Status branded Hiscox liteflite case and original paperwork. Breaks my heart to sell it but am almost exclusively playing 5 string now and intend to order a new 5 string fretless Status. Really looking for cash only as I desperately want to get a Status 5; if you have a fretless 5 string Status to trade then I'll obviously be interested - might be tempted by other nice 5s. [s]£950[/s] [s]£900[/s] now £800 ono + postage. Will only post via UPS as they're the only people I trust - will be approx £30-40 to the UK and probably £50-60 for Europe. PM me with your postcode and I'll get a proper quote. Pickup from Salisbury is free and I can deliver anywhere along the M3 or a reasonable distance from Salisbury for diesel costs; am occasionally in Nottingham and Swindon too. Can't upload pics here for some reason so please use the following links for big pics: pic1 pic2 pic3 pic4 pic5 pic6 pic7
 3. How about: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=127944&hl= Also have a fretless Status S1 Custom (4 string) and a Fender Jazz Bass Plus 4 that I can provide pics for if you're interested. Always wanted a Sei...
SEI Flamboyant 5 Headed, built in 94, I think..will try and clarify but has a very early serial number and was one of the very first to have the Sei Flam head design. Bubinga facing over Flame Maple body, birds eye neck over Ebony or Morrado board ABM bridge, Gotoh pegs, Shack 18v pre and Bart soaps. I was going to put this up in the Gallery but would try here first if there could be an interesting trade. I am not looking for another bass as I have my two that I gig, but..?? What I would really be interested in are Aguilar cabs, or a very decent amp/pre. Thunderfunk, Glock, DB750/751, that sort of thing. Pics to follow asap. I would prefer to meet up and I am in Kent but willing to travel within reason.
4. Now on eBay with best offer option...but would much rather sell it here
 5. Me neither! As you suspect I'm only really after 5 stringers at the mo, and already have a 4 string Jazz. Thanks anyway! Cheers
Figured I might as well try my luck. I don't see why no-one's going for this. This Stealth looks ace! I've got a Fender Deluxe Active Jazz in black with red tort. pickguard, rosewood board, Badass II bridge, Noiseless p'ups. Sounds and plays nicely BUT it's a 4-string? Thought I'd put it out there anyway!
6. Nice 5 stringers, fretted or fretless e.g. Status, Alembic, Pedulla, or vintage Gibsons or Fenders. Or 70s/80s Yamahas.
What you after trade wise?
7. Starting to think I may just keep the Stealth - alternatively may start to consider interesting trades?
 8. No problem - it is in the "sweet spot" according to Rob but you can't argue with personal preference.
Thanks for sending those pics though, the bass looks brand new! Sadly I prefer my fretless basses with a bridge pickup!
9. It's a 4 string S1 Custom, figured walnut top, graphite neck and phenolic unlined fingerboard - also has an active/passive switch. Absolutely spotless all round; was a custom order for me from new. I can send some pics if you like - PM me your email address if so. It will break my heart to sell it but I need to raise some funds...
I've got money burning a hole in my pocket since I was planning on buying a bass which fell through...keep me posted!
10. Well, I may be putting my fretless Status up for sale soon so you could get that and redo Graceland...
I was just having a bit of a ditty on the ACG there, playing along to "Starchild" by Level 42. It reminded me of my Stealth, because I learned that song on that bass. What a tone. I also recorded a few covers of tracks from Paul Simon's "Graceland" on it. I was never entirely happy with having to do it on a fretted bass although the results the Stealth gave were excellent. Status GAS again...
11. No probs - easily done. And back to the top it goes...
Yes pardon me, I did of course mean Stealth. I used to own a Matrix too, perhaps thats why I got the names mixed up.
12. Hasn't been in the Gallery to my knowledge, I've had it for about a year but it's not a Matrix, it's a Stealth. I quite like the colour myself...
Yes, I have to say that the green tint is my least favourite colour. I much prefered the natural graphite although the yellow tint looked good on necks. My old stealth 6 string was a natural graphite model. I loved the sound, but ultimately I found that I didn't get on with 6 strings enough to be my main bass. I sold the bass after about 4 months, replacing it with a Spector. If anyone wants further insight into these basses, please PM me. I remember the Gallery had a 6 string Matrix 1 in the same colour for sale for £1000 for ages a while back, is this the same bass?
13. Still here, still great, still for sale...
 14. Great basses! I have one of these too, absolutely amazing. Have a bump on me.
 15. It is a lovely bass - and it needs a new owner :-)
 16. Up to the top - this isn't going on eBay.
Back up again, and another pic too - also featuring my very popular slippers.
17. On eBay now - slippers not included. Would still rather sell it here...
D'oh. Meant to upload a picture of the bass in the case. It is 35" scale, and yes, I wear slippers. Rock on!
