1. Back up again, and another pic too - also featuring my very popular slippers.
  2. D'oh. Meant to upload a picture of the bass in the case. It is 35" scale, and yes, I wear slippers. Rock on!
that's me out too, didn't know what a Kinsman Case was but guessing it's not a hardcase
3. Sorry, acoustic bass + no hardcase + 2 hour cargo flight = worry for me! I'd rather keep it than take the risk of it getting damaged :-( thanks for the interest anyway
I would have bought in seconds. Too bad you don't want to take the shipping risk...
4. Should have mentioned this has 24 (count 'em!) frets...and back to the top bump.
  5. Bought Lance's Fender Jazz Plus - great comms, prompt shipping and lovely bass. Cheers Joe
  6. Wow this forum moves quick! Just noticed one of these on eBay for £350 starting bid...and not as pretty...so think this deserves a bump at £300.
  7. Thanks - I've not gigged this one at all (although the previous owner did...but he wasn't in Salisbury). I just tend to stick to 5 strings now.
Nice, not seen this one round the pubs of Salisbury
8. SOLD ------------ NOW DOWN TO £900 --------- Next up, my 6 string Status Stealth. Very sad to see it go, but just don't play it enough to do it justice. Utterly fantastic in every way- this is the Mark 1 version, which has a solid wood body core covered in a graphite shell; the whole bass (including neck) is moulded in one piece of graphite around this wood core. It's been finished in the optional green tint. It's also got the 3 way midrange switch which I think was optional. There are some dents and scratches, and the front pickup is cracked and bruised in a number of places - however it works absolutely perfectly. Status can supply a new pickup or cover very easily but as it works perfectly I never bothered having it done. Please see the pics for full details and I can provide many more hires pics on request. Plays and sounds incredible, classic Status piano sound at your fingertips. Very low action, frets in great condition too. Comes in a fitted reinforced gigbag - what we used to call a hard soft case when I worked in a guitar shop many years ago. New, these are £2260 (plus an extra £80 for the green tint!). I'm looking for £900 ono plus postage which will be approx £30. I am in Salisbury but can meet the buyer anywhere along the M3 for diesel costs and am occasionally in Swindon and Nottingham too. I'm really looking for money here but will always be tempted by interesting trades - PM me with what you've got.
  9. SOLD ------------- Hi all To resolve some serious recent GAS, I am going to put a number of basses up for sale that are now surplus to requirements. First up is my Washburn AB35 5 string acoustic bass - this is by far the nicest acoustic bass I've ever played, great sound, great action, and looks superb (IMHO) It's in excellent condition, some very slight surface swirl marks but nothing else that I can see. Has a Equis preamp and both jack and XLR outputs. Spruce top, mahogany back and sides. Don't see many of these about either and perfect for those beer garden gigs... Comes with VERY nice Kinsman case that fits it perfectly. Looking for around £300 - would REALLY seriously rather not post this but if absolutely required then it will be about £30-40 - it's obviously a bit bigger than a regular electric. I'm in Salisbury but can deliver anywhere along the M3 for diesel costs and am occasionally in Swindon and Nottingham as well.
  10. Bought Mart's Stingray5 fretless, fantastic transaction all round, absolutely perfect condition - exactly as described. Couldn't be happier with it, and a top bloke into the bargain. Cheers
  11. Bought Gwilym's TRB5P - great bass at a great price and all exactly as described. Cheers!
  12. Good price for a good bass, but unfortunately a very dead market - see the various great basses that haven't sold for very good prices recently. My advice would be to hang on to it if you possibly can, market may pick up after Christmas. If it was unlined and I hadn't just bought a TRB5P then I'd definitely be interested.
Bump with a final price drop to £370 plus postage.... Any interest???
13. For sale due to extensive GAS (thanks to this very forum...) Ashdown Superfly 2 x 250W lightweight programmable amp: I bought this amp full price the 2nd week they were released (5 or 6 years ago) and have never had a single problem with it. I always meant to remove the aluminium surrounds (which makes it lighter and run a little cooler) but never got round to it. Will come with original box and soft cover. £150 ono, shipping will be £20 Ashdown ABM compact 1 x 15" cab. Basically new, never gigged by me or the guy I bought it from (here on basschat, only about a month ago!) - £150 which is what I paid for it, collected from Salisbury, shipping will be about £40 I reckon. Would rather not ship though. Overrun 4x8" cab - made by the same people who made the 4x8 mini cabs for Ashdown but with (better) Celestions installed and red piping; will happily take 600W. Never gigged but has been to a few rehearsals - slight dent in the front grille at the top. £150 collected from Salisbury; again, shipping will be about £40 I reckon but would rather not ship. Might be tempted to swap any (or a combination) of the above for interesting instruments...

Bought Trace AH300SMX from Kev (kaygee) - great service, great comms, all round top transaction!
Kev (kaygee) bought my QSCRMX850, was a lovely easy transaction, cheers!
15. Bought a Schroeder 1210 cab from Moose - fantastic item at a fair price and great bloke. Definitely recommended.
  16. The original Energy basses had sharp bevelled edges, the later versions (from about 93 onwards IIRC) adopted the rounded body style. The Energy Artist versions had figured tops - walnut or maple were the options I believe. Hope this helps - Status basses are universally fantastic, even the maple necked ones.
Aren't the ones with the rounded edges like yours the Energy Artiste version? Could be wrong, but I had an Energy and it had sharp bevelled edges. Nice bass for not a lot of money. Shouldn't be on here for long.
17. Just bought Marc's Ashdown compact 115 cab - great item, great price, nice bloke! Thanks a lot Joe
  18. I believe the BB5000A had different Alnico pickups, or at least the ones I've seen did, plus a slightly different bridge. I'm a bit of a sucker for "all original" basses too...
Well - v8bass mentioned that the bass was originally a Passive BB, and he's added a preamp - so it would be VERY close to the BB5000A that you've been searching for. (The only difference between the BB5000 and the BB5000A is the active circuitry - which he has added).
