  1. On the bridge, normally the brass bit at the top of it. I have one of these as well, which is my second. I sort of suspect that the one you're selling might have been mine at one point too, if not, it is identical! P.s. amazing basses, agree totally about the neck
  2. Purchased a Mark Bass pedal from Andy, very prompt delivery and great comms. Pleasure to deal with. Cheers
  3. Squier Bass VI, has Fender logo but still has the Squier serial number, it was just because I fancied a painted headstock and it was easier to find a Fender logo... Was refinished in matt blue ice metallic by me with a rattle can from Manchester Guitar Tech. It's not the best refin you'll ever see but it does look the part. There is overspray on the back of the neck and the fretboard as shown in the pics, wouldn't be too hard to get rid of it but I never bothered. There is also some original sunburst finish under the scratchplate, again, this wasn't a pro job. Has LaBella flats and a proper Fender Japan tremolo fitted. Price is firm just because I'd rather keep it on my wall than sell it any cheaper as I love the way it looks. Sounds great with the flats too. Pickup preferred but could pack well and ship in a proper guitar shipping carton, UK only though, sorry, but the customs paperwork is a real pain since The Bad Thing.
  4. The neck is fine, no problems at all. In fact, I've never had an issue on multiple basses, I've been playing exclusively E-C for about 15 years. Also, particularly relevant for this bass, wenge is incredibly strong as a neck wood.
  5. Bought a lovely jazz bass from Ray, great comms, prompt delivery, very well packed. Excellent transaction all round, highly recommended! Cheers Ray
  6. Thanks, it's a beauty. 4.1kg, just weighed it.
  7. Hi, nope, neither ashtray nor pickup cover, the guard has the holes as you rightly say but from what I can establish, that's how they come but fender Japan don't provide the covers
  8. Very rare factory special order Capri Orange PB70US. US pickup, sounds great and is in very good condition. Will update with the weight but it is not heavy at all. All original (they didn't come with ashtrays). UPDATED: 4.1kg according to bathroom scales. Comes with fender gig bag, postage is possible but would prefer collection from high Wycombe or nearabouts. Sale preferred of course but trades may be possible for (preferably) vintage items, possibly interested in some FX pedals too. I play guitar as well as bass so that may open up some other options. UPDATED: now £875
  9. Open to cash or trade offers, have relisted on ebay just because there was a deal on but would rather it sold here.
  10. I find the spacing very comfortable, despite my other basses being 17.5mm, I barely notice the difference. Probably because my left hand is surprised by how comfortable it is on a 6-string 🙂
  11. Finally did the photo 🙂 Also took one of the wiring so you can see the simple mistake I made with the volume knob
  12. Now £2100 Much as I love this, I just find that I'm focusing on my 5 strings - and I also need to raise some funds. This is by far the greatest 6 string I've ever come across, very easy to play (I have small hands and never had any problems with this, unlike some other 6ers I've had) and sounds amazing. Currently strung E-F but will happily restring it for anyone who wants it B-C instead. Would prefer a sale but will always consider trades, vintage stuff probably more likely to succeed but I have strange tastes so always worth an ask! Also play 6 string guitar if that helps. Shipping within the UK is possible at extra cost but would greatly prefer collection from high Wycombe, London or pre-agreed mutually convenient location. Full spec below, copied from bipbip62's (who I got it from in the first place) original advert on here: The specifications : 32 3/9 " scale (as wanted by Jonas HELLBORG). 26 frets with zero fret. 1.5 mm action under the C string up to 2 mm under the B string 14 mm strings spacing at the Status Electro bridge (as wanted by Jonas HELLBORG himself). 8 mm at the graphite nut. 1 double action truss rod (beware as it's a typical English left screwing model). 3 bass Gotoh tuners on the bass side + 3 guitar Gotoh tuners on the treble side. Woven graphite neck with Rosewood fretboard. The semi-solid body with a single 'F' hole has a double size two-piece mahogany back with a red coloured veneer and book-matched Rosewood facing. Acoustic chambers are machined into the mahogany before the top is glued on : this allows the body to resonate and create a warmer, more "open" response. 1 Status Hyperactive humbucker really close to the bridge (as wanted by Jonas HELLBORG himself) + 1 piezo pickup under the saddle in the bridge with balance, master volume (20 detent positions), treble cut/boost for magnetic and treble cut/boost for piezo (like on all Electro II series). The Weight: 5.2 kilos . Delivered in original Status gigbag. Equipped with Thomastik JR round wound nickel strings (029 - 043 - 051 - 068 - 089 -118). Satin finish for the body and thick glossy finish for the neck. Delivered to Jonas HELLBORG in November 2001. Set up by Christophe LEDUC (great french luthier). It's the rarest Status bass ever, completely original and never modified. Official price today will be more than £4500 GBP is you can get one made. To add to that last point, I tried to get Rob Green to build me a 5string Electro about 5 years ago - in fact I asked him multiple times over the course of about 3 years - and always got a flat 'no'. I imagine if you're Mark King or that guy from Muse you'd probably get one but otherwise, the Electro seems to be never coming back as a model...
  13. Sorry I haven't posted that photo of the routing yet, life keeps getting in the way! Will definitely take a pic over Xmas and add it.
  14. Sure does! I have all my basses E-C as I play a lot of chords as well as Hooky-esque melodies, but it handles the bass end really well, and like most short scale basses, actually has a really solid low end thump.
  15. Sold a case to Rich, prompt payment and great transaction all round
  16. Hi, I'll take a picture this weekend time permitting and post it, from what I remember it's very clean and tidy and similar to any 72 Tele top rout
  17. I'm hoping this is OK as it's not a Rick instrument but rather the case? Used but in good condition, no cracks, no damage just a few minor scrapes. All feet, hinges and catches in good condition. Can be posted in the UK. Surplus to requirements as I've got hold of a far less practical but more vintage accurate silver case. https://ibb.co/FbvtJsT https://ibb.co/Yk040qF https://ibb.co/ncvqM8X https://ibb.co/gwY2Fz5 https://ibb.co/mHzvFZh https://ibb.co/x7dfLPn https://ibb.co/JCDPt7N https://ibb.co/6m0hKg2 https://ibb.co/k97fC0F https://ibb.co/tXVjy4B https://ibb.co/DMY52qd https://ibb.co/gMSzYJN £160 plus postage

  19. Hi, I've never done it - I only play E-C but I think it would be playable as long as the strings were a lightish gauge
