  1. Still available if anyone is interested. Needs a good home.
  2. I bought the 800+. I had looked at the two newer amps, the WD800 and TT800 but felt the 800+ met my needs. Plus there's far too many knobs and switches on those new amps!
  3. Keen to move this great little amp on as I have just purchased another from the Subway range. Send me a PM if you're interested, thanks.

  5. I have just bought a Mesa Subway D800+ from Mike. The whole experience was first class - communication, description of the item, packaging and pricing...not to mention a really nice guy. I would highly recommend Mike to any Basschatter.
  6. Thanks Mike.
  7. As a teenager I was a big Iron Maiden fan and loyally trooped down to my local music shop to pick up a copy of the just released 'Powerslave' album. Once I got there I saw they had a picture disc version of the album which I just couldn't resist. After I trekked home and put the album carefully on the deck I was mesmerised by all this new Maiden material and listened to it the whole way through it one sitting. However, when it came to the song 'Powerslave' itself, about two thirds of the way through, the song speed up. Bruce was singing 'Tell me why I had to be a powerslave' in a chipmunk voice! For years I thought that was all part of the epic feel to the song. My mates hated Maiden and I didn't know anyone else who had a copy I could check against to see if this was intended. The disc is now on the wall of fame in our practice room.
  8. Recently bought a Reverend Sentinel short scale bass. Brilliant guitar and a joy to play.
  9. As I have been working from home, I have taken time to try to get into Failure. Previously I had liked a couple of their songs, but found the albums hard going in one sitting or even listening to on car journeys. Thanks to Spotify and sitting at my desk for a few hours a day, I have had time to listen properly. I created a best of Failure playlist to play in the background. I now have several of their songs embedded in my head. The playlist has grown to about 30 songs. Some good stuff too among the Failure off shoots and Ken Andrew's solo album. Check out the bass on this one:
  10. A band called The Mayan Factor. I'd never heard of them until I was listening to Pucifer on Spotify and clicked on the 'other people like' tab. Great discovery! I know little about them other than they're from the US.
  11. Ok, thanks for the heads up. Who knows what could be announced next in terms of support.
  12. I haven't had a chance to catch up on the news today yet, but has there been any discussion or proposals to provide financial support for the self-employed including musicians? I was just calculating that between this weekend and the end of June the covers band I play in is likely to have 14 pub gigs cancelled, amounting to a loss of earnings close to £7000. That's not to mention the weddings we have lost too (although we've been fortunate to reschedule one or two for the autumn). Any thoughts on this? Thanks for any advice.
  13. Little update. I played a wedding at the weekend with the New Bee foam tips and all is good. No inflammation etc as I had experienced with the silicones.
  14. Thanks MoJoKe. I have the New Bee foams but haven't used them up to now as I didn't find them particularly comfortable but needs must, so I will try them in a few weeks at a gig.
  15. Thanks for the replies. I noticed on a Samsung forum that some users were describing similar symptoms to me and one described it as almost like a burn which is pretty accurate. I'll give my ears some time to heal and then try the foam tips I have. Really hoping that does the trick. This is an unexpected and unwelcome occupational hazard! As if chasing the perfect tone wasn't bad enough!
  16. Has anyone experienced an allergic reaction to silicone tips? I have been using the CCA C12s recently and while I am happy with the quality of sound, the tips they were fitted with have been causing me considerable discomfort (redness, soreness, slight swelling) recently. Without being too specific, my ear hygiene and cleaning of the tips. is very good, but from reading on other audio forums, there does seem to be a problem for some people like me unfortunately. If you have experienced this, would you mind explaining how you coped with the situation and any workarounds. I really don't want to start lugging a powered speaker on stage as my monitor and the other three guys are using IEMs. I have memory foam tips here but will have to leave trying them for a few days until the pain & discomfort subsides. Thanks for any advice everyone.
  17. Thanks
  18. Can you post the link? Cheers.
  19. If you check out the Reverend FB page and their videos Ken Haas explains the pickups and demos the bass. I think that went out Friday week ago.
  20. Old news! Loads of new Reverend models released on 2 January (although the consensus seems to be that it is a cracking guitar). I've just placed an order for one of Reverend's new short scales, the Sentinel:
  21. CCA C12s arrived today. Two weeks to arrive from Ali Express. Went for the upgraded CCA cable too. Total price for both items was around £36 First impressions are very positive. Smaller than my C10s and not as harsh in the top end which is what I spent most time EQing when out gigging. Looking forward to using them this weekend. My test songs are Find My Way and Satellite by Nine Inch Nails and Wake Up by RATM.
  22. This just arrived today. Our singer and guitarist already use one each and seem to be impressed. Bundled ear buds not so good. The P2 has been OK for me up to now although it does feel like I have the baby reins on at times and have limited ability to move on stage (we like to go out into the crowd every night at various points). I would have to agree too with EBS about the batteries. I just placed a small piece of Gorilla tape over them to keep them secure. The belt attachment is also easily bent if you snag it at all. Going to use the new system tomorrow at a wedding. I have also ordered CCA C12s from Ali Express so will report back on what they sound like and how they compare to the C10s I am currently using.
  23. Having done a bit more research they do seem to be v similar although may be tuned a little differently. Currently looking at the CCA C12s. I see Ali Express are doing a discount event on 11 Nov is that is useful for anyone here.
  24. Thanks EBS. I appreciate the advice. I'll check out the ZS10 and compare to the C10. Is a replacement cable advisable and if so, any you would recommend? I may eventually go custom but I'm still at the experimental stage and getting used to playing 2 hours+ gigs with the in-ears. I have found small tweaks on the desk and app can produce dramatic results. Be interested to hear your thoughts too on the Behringer P2, which I am also using, and to what degree it influences the sound quality.
