  1. Watched Raye on BBC One last night and thought it was one of the better musical performances I’ve seen in a while. Almost Amy Winehouse territory. The bass player was terrific and I now have F bass GAS. On IPlayer for anyone who didn’t catch it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m001zq01
  2. 😍 if you ever sell….. ect ect
  3. It’s a blight on the standards of this country that such practice is tolerated whether it’s selling houses, cars, guitars or anything else. I would like to think that most would condemn the shops actions and no one on Basschat would go back on a deal like this scenario.
  4. A bit of over enthusiasm and a bit of desperation. The blame should lie with the shop. They made the original deal and shouldn’t have entertained anything else after that. A true display of greed.
  5. I used a trolley to get to a gig in central London via the tube and by the time I got to the venue I was exhausted. Then after setting up one of the other bands put his full pint on my amp, so in my short fuse state I let him know what I thought about it. Got fired from my band the next day!
  6. This is a healthy reminder of why I stay the hell away from gigging!
  7. I’m glad it’s in the hands of a player rather than someone who could potentially be a collector or seller, but it’s bad of a shop to renegade on an agreed sale.
  8. I can’t remember if it should be stamped or not for this age, but if the neck has been off you’d think it would have been photographed and included in the advert. This is where Andy Baxter is at the forefront of the vintage market.
  9. Contextually reasonably priced 62 refin jazz in bass bros. Not something I can justify and my least favourite custom colour, but I’m sure it will garner interest quickly. https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1962-fender-jazz-bass/
  10. If buying basses is evil then sign me up for hell 😆
  11. Let’s hope they don’t track online mentions because that price might have been updated if they do
  12. A tenner hopefully 😂
  13. I was going to say the same thing. Unless you need the cash, just put it aside for 6 months and if you still don’t want it then you know it won’t become a regret.
  14. £2800 15 years ago feels like a lot of money still. I remember 60s Fenders being priced around that at the time.
  15. Best buy was a Fender American Deluxe Jazz V in trans red. It was mint and only £400 on eBay! Should have been more patient with it but traded it on here after a few years. Worst sell was a 3EQ Musicman Stingray. Traded it for an Overwater Jazz and a bit of cash that valued it at £500. Would be double that now, and again should have showed more patience with it.
  16. It’s only just May so plenty of time to falter. Not that I will of course….. 🤔
  17. I think it needs to be in the bin for at least a fortnight.
  18. A party piece should be a tune very one knows really, that’s why Simon Fitzpatrick’s let it go arrangement is so brilliant. Once upon a time I learned super Mario on bass like this: It tended to be my audition piece.
  19. A lot of guitar players influenced my younger years - mainly Angus Young but also Nile Rogers. These days I love a good horn section and favourite sax player is Bob Reynolds.
  20. I wouldn’t sleep for that week
  21. It’d be good if it stays in the UK. I suspect it will have collectors worldwide scrambling for funds.
