  1. This (excuse the pun) blows my mind. Even before I type anything on here, I’ve already spoken it in my head. Back to music, the top improvisers also say they sing in their head the line/ phrase they want to play in a solo.
  2. When you say hear your voice do you mean the tonality/ accent we talk with or just talking to yourself? I’ve also assumed everyone can compose/ have conversations in their head, what else do people do?
  3. Unsurprisingly their feedback suggests they only sell modern guitars on eBay. Maybe he/she/they collect vintage guitars “for the shop” without real intention of selling, so super inflate the prices.
  4. In the main thread this has happened to some other bass chatters but was resolved eventually. I wouldn’t worry, maybe try again next week?
  5. Had seen it advertised at $45k previously
  6. That ads been around a while. Definitely not worth the price, and you’d certainly only purchase it from a well known source.
  7. Never got to meet him, but for sure one of those names you’d always look out for on this forum
  8. The late 70s I’ve played had baseball bats for necks. I think someone said before what period of 70s had the B width
  9. Mr Baxter and ATB are wisely awaiting my jackpot lottery win and clearing them out.
  10. That’s because when you get to that level, the differences are mostly down to spec and taste. None are better than the other, just different, even if only slightly.
  11. I’ve tried rotating at gigs before and had 2 jazz basses that I could not get to sound good in the room, a Tokai and a Sire V7. These weren’t bad basses, but I didn’t have enough experience with them in that environment, whereas the P bass never had a bad gig. Ps. when I was at ACM, the players with the best sound only had one or two instruments but were incredibly comfortable with them. Yet Mr gear addict over here often struggled to make the most of an instrument.
  12. I could definitely get by on my 4 string P bass. But the satisfaction of wishing for a sound and having a bass that can deliver it is worth more than a holiday for a week (insert other not as fun as bass ways to waste money) to me.
  13. No doubting that! Jake Newman had one when I had lessons with him and what a loverly bass it was
  14. Is it a good price? I always thought that these were above an epic but not as renowned as the series or SC sigs.
  15. I had some excellent sweet popcorn from Butterkiss this afternoon and think it’s madness that anyone would choose a different flavour.
  16. I have 3 distinctive basses and they all have their specialties. Because I hadn’t had a 5 string for around 10 years, I’ve been playing my 5 string Sire V5 for the last 6 months. That means my loverly Overwater fretless has remained in its case. However, it will be there for when I need it. edit: it now has a Hiscox case with red lining because I didn’t think the blue worked with the bass colour
  17. I’ve been drunk many times in my life, but never Ali Express Dingwall with a Tesco logo drunk
  18. How many musical instruments outside the triangle are £65? Can’t be many. If I see something of interest that looks genuine 9/10 it will also appear on basschat.
  19. Epiphone- I worked really hard on my paper round to raise money for a Thunderbird and it was crap. Never again
  20. A designer creating CGI may not be an instrument maker and understand the design/ functionality of the instrument. To say there is no grain in the top wood, well…..
  21. It’s worth remembering that there are players out there that don’t know beyond the usual brands you find in a music store. If they have serious money in their pocket, they might consider themselves buying the best available when we know of other options.
  22. This is a great idea. Let’s see if Mr Baxter agrees when I offer £1 a day for his stack knob jazz bass.
  23. Gorgeous neck flame. I didn’t know they did streamer $$, thought it was just corvette.
  24. I would look elsewhere, until I had bought the other basses I want and still had £5k for the burl one. Most of the CS basses will go to collectors than weekend warriors, hence the certificates.
