1. ...pointless 'best of the bin' exercise!
2. Does it come with a case? D
3. +1 I have the trad in my non ex Jap '62 P and it just sounds heavenly! pure vintage tone! Also have 64's in my Jazz bass which sound fantastic, back pickup is burpy but still nice and smooth, neck pickup is as deep as anything!
4. L-R: Fretless Warwick Thumb (currently unstrung)! 1989/90 MIJ Fender Precision '62 reissue (non export), '93 Musicman Stingray, Sei Jazz 5er, MiM Fender Jazz Deluxe (Wizard 64's and Audere JZ3D pre) Double Bass wouldn't fit......!
5. Withdrawn due to lack of interest D
6. Lovely bass solo at about 7mins 30..... really nice musical phrases.... is Tony Grey the bass player? I haven't heard/seen him before.....it's nice. D
7.
I need a good bass, good strings, and my brain. That is all. I've been playing, not talking, and I have found out that all I need is a decent bass. There is little difference between any of the basses I have had, only practical things. Playing and thinking about music has shown me that any decent bass will do. I've talked about bass far too long. When you actually PLAY, you start getting a more real connection with yourself, and the instrument itself becomes less and less important. Your LIFE is what is important. Live it and you will speak though your bass.
+1000!! couldn't have said it better myself......
8. Pm'd
9. price drop bump!!!
10. All been earthed correctly I believe. I sent it to Terry Chapman to have it checked and done properly. Unfortunately he couldn't offer much advice. To be honest this has been a stress for me since the day I fitted it....I'm starting to consider selling it and getting another pre.....or perhaps selling the wizards and getting some Nordstrand humbucking J's D
11. interesting, I hadn't thought of that... The preamp has a toggle switch for the different 'Z modes'. would this be classed as something that routes the signals? D
12. I know I have posted my ongoing problems with this in the past but I have one more!! Ever since I installed an Audere JZ3D pre into my Jazz deluxe bass I have a terrible hum whenever the Wizard 64 pickups are solo'd. I know that the pickups are passive and therefore single coil but this is much louder than a regular single coil hum. It also gets much worse when you touch the pickup. It doesn't appear to be a problem with the pre as there is no hum directly from the pre amp (with the pickup wires removed). I spoke to Andy at Wizard today and his only real suggestion was to post up a query on here to see if anyone has had a similar problem and effectively fixed it?! I have had the bass fully shielded inside, this has slightly improved the problem I think, but at the moment it is un-giggable. Which is a massive shame as it sounds great (behind the hum). The Wizards are also perfect for what I need, they sounded top notch when used with the Fender Pre, but I don't want to go back to that.... Thanks in advance for any help!! Dave
13. The part of the bridge that the string sits on can be screwed side to side giving you a good mm option either way D

19. Wow.....I am rubbish at this listing business!....Everytime I think I've got everything.... 35inch scale on her D
20. I have had lots of PM's concerning the string spacing which I had written in as 18mm spacing. It is in fact adjustable string spacing. (clearly something I never used) so those who weren't sure about the string spacing maybe you could have your mind changed?! D
21. I Love that video of Pow....Particularly the little jump steps they do with the hits! amezzin!
22. Back in the country bump!
23. Le Bump!
24. Let me clarify my original post now that I'm not in such a foul mood!!... I really have no problem with the guy who did the original work. I asked him to shield the bass to fix the hum...He did it and said he couldn't hear a hum when he plugged into to an amp. I understand why he should be paid. My issue with Ray Cooper was his attitude. There are much more professional ways to turn down work. He was just downright rude to me, which topped off a pretty annoying morning! Audere finally got back in touch with me. (no apology for the amount of time it took) and just told me to take the pickups wires out of the pre and see if it still hums. I haven't had a chance to do this yet, so i'll try when I get home. D
25. D'oh! Would've loved to have seen this, unfortunately I'm away!. Saw Bona couple years back at the Jazz cafe, he just oozed taste and musicianship. Modern day legend!
