    Hi there fellow bass chatters... Just thought I'd put out a feeler. I have a beautiful custom built Steve Azola Lightning Bug Bass, immaculate, complete with SKB travel case (again immaculate). As I'm playing mainly double bass at the moment and elec/ fretless bass, the Azola is not getting the time that it deserves. For those of you that don't know, Steve hand built these basses in California (including the Ampeg re-issue baby bass), and after 1200 basses and 15 years sadly closed the doors of his custom workshop. I would be lookng for around £2,000.00 for a sale but what I would love to do, (sorry about being so specific) is trade my Azola for a pre ernie ball Musicman, be it a stingray, sabre or cutlass either fretted or fretless.     Up for sale is my all american Ampeg B500DR Programmable bass amp and SVT806HE Cabinet, both items are fully flight cased. The Ampeg B500DR has four programmable presets meaning you can tailor the sound to multiple instruments and save them. Has two inputs meaning you can plug in two basses at once and use either with a selected preset using the included Ampeg 4-way footswitch. Has effects loop, tuner out etc on back. Small rack amp with up to 500 watts (at 2ohms) or 300 watts (at 4ohms) same sound and vibe as SVT 3PRO, but digital and far more versatile. This amp was the last model to be deigned and built in U.S. before Ampeg sold to LOUD ASIA. Fantastic Condition...Comes with Manual and footswitch The Ampeg SVT806HE is best described as a "mini-SVT" cabinet, (even down to the scaled down logo) in that like the Ampeg SVT, it has 8 speaker drivers (hence the "8" in the model name), in a sealed, non-ported enclosure. What makes this cabinet different and unique from the standard SVT is the that the speakers are 6.5" drivers instead of the 10" drivers in SVT's, and there are only two separate cabinet chambers (with four 6.5" in each chamber) instead of the four separate chambers of a regular SVT. So the same beautiful tone as an 8x10 without that extra weight!! There is also a 2.5" tweeter in this cab, which can be disconnected (there are two jacks on the back, one for w/horn, one for without the horn).     Hey, Just posting an update... I ordered the 4No. replacement speakers from Thomann as well as a few other bits and bobs that were missing off the 806HE cab. Wired up the speakers, replaced the missing screws from the existing speakers, re-attached the vinyl covering where it was just hanging off (luckily none if it was completely missing) etc etc. Connected it up with my Ampeg B500DR head and.... ...what a sound, beautiful and warm, exactly what you would expect from an Ampeg. In fact the 806HE sounds so great that I've decided to move on my PJB 4B cabs (2No.) as I was going to get these flight cased together, but the Ampeg 806HE is in fact smaller than having the two PJB cabs stacked, so the Ampeg is going off to be cased next week as it's definately a keeper! I got lucky with this cab, picked it up used and distraught for € 100 and got the replacement speakers for € 156.00 and with a little time and TLC I now have another fantastic bass cab!! Drew

    Oh what I'd give... it always sucks living in Ireland!! I gave five years playing with an original ska/reggae band, best years and best best lines of my life... Hope ye get a bassist that ye truly deserve, it's sure to be a lot of fun!! Cheers Drew
