The now seemingly annual tradition of people getting annoyed that EBMM have made a bass that they don't like and aren't going to buy. This type of release in no way devalues the brand as they still make the same basses they made yesterday and will make again tomorrow.

That placentia looks fine. Just fine. Really hope this isn't a move away from the chunky bridge on the tribute series for cost saving reasons.

I've been into Bass Direct a few times and Mark has said he enjoys the challenge of finding someone the right bass. If it's there just go on and they'll try and help you find the right bass. Just have to be strong enough to resist the temptation if it is outside your budget 😂 -

Just spotted this on Facebook so had a better look. The GB moderns look fantastic and the Elricks don't look too shabby either. Loaded with ultralites, Nordstrands, Markbass and Babicz, will probably cost about £1700. Will be interesting to see how they stack up against other basses in this price range.

I made the mistake of trying a Nighthawk 5 again in GuitarGuitar today. A VM5 is definitely the one, especially with the black label pickups. The sales guys did their very best but I'm just not in the right place to buy one. Definitely regret not buying one a couple of years ago when prices were lower 😅

Sounds very promising! I think I want a Spector, all the reviews seem so good but annoyingly I don't like the look or feel of the Legend series stuff, so I reckon it has to be the Euro. Which is a shame because they are expensive for the use of a bedroom bassist.... 😅 Maybe one day if I gig I'll treat myself to one.

Not a unsubstantial amount of money in the price increase but get why. Guess it just pushes you into a slightly different tier of brand which is exciting! -

To throw another spanner in the works, there is Medium scale (32") basses available - most popular one to dip your toe in the water is the Ibanez Mezzo. Depending on when and if you want to try short scale and want the best possible start, I'd go for a Sandberg Lionel - P bass sounds and the quality is always spot on. -
If I wasn't building a P Bass, I'd be messaging my sister in Stratford-upon-Avon and see if she fancies a wee drive 😂
