Hey Guys, My amp has died for the second time and will need to replace it unfortunately. So, reluctantly I’m offering up my Sadowsky MX jazz that I bought brand new from Thomann last April to fund it. This one is from a later batch and doesn’t have the issues that plagued the original run of these basses. I had the frets professionally levelled not long after purchasing it by Mark at Wilts Guitar Repair in Trowbridge. Ever since then it has been my go-to bass has a lovely low action and the preamp is the classic Sadowsky preamp minus the VTC control, so you still get that classic Sadowsky tone. The bass is in very good condition and will come with the official padded Sadowsky gig bag. Ideally I’d like to sell it, but if someone has a bass combo/bass stack they might be interested in parting with then let me know. Here’s a few clips of it in action: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCfOnJdOkgr/?igsh=MWQ1YzF3dHExdDdyeQ== https://www.instagram.com/reel/C-07e-cuO9Z/?igsh=MTBidHB6bm9laG51dg== https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8hd2qdtEI4/?igsh=OXQwanlzdmI5Y3Jw I’m after £300. Collection from Bridgwater, Somerset. I can also deliver within a certain distance as well. I can post but would have to ask for another £30 for insured delivery in the UK. Any questions please ask. Thanks, Josh.

I’m actually really happy with the standard preamp, I’ve got the same in my older RSD 4 string and have never had a problem with it. I did upgrade my previous ME P/J 5 string with the VTC drop in replacement, and honestly the difference wasn’t that great. Maybe in the future, I might put a full EMG DC set in it, but until then I have no reason to.

The string spacing on Modern 24 models is 18mm from what I can gather. It’s a very comfortable spacing!

I just recently sold my 55-01 to Stuart and couldn’t have been happier with the whole transaction. He’s an absolute gent to deal with and pleasure to chat to in person!

I’ve just uploaded a quick snippet of the tone of this thing🤟🏻

Hey guys, I had been hoping ever since the inception of the ME range that they would eventually offer the Modern, as the German/Japanese models have always been rather expensive. So, I’d been keeping an eye on them to show up in stock on Thomann and pulled the trigger last week. Annoyingly they don’t help themselves by only having rendered images on the website, in fact it’s nearly impossible to find a decent photo or video (aside from the official release video) of them currently. I might even be in the very small amount of bassists here who even have one😂 First impressions so far have been great, loving the almost Spector-like tone with both pick ups. The only little niggle has been a high fret up in the dusty end which will be dealt with soon, otherwise it’s been a very easy bass to set up with a lovely low action. I’m thinking black hardware is the next step😏

Hey Guys, Here we’ve got a lovely older Korean made Lakland 55-01 that I received in a trade only recently. The only reason I’m selling it is to finance a bass I’ve had my eye on for a while and now it’s available. This is a fantastic bass and like with all Laklands in my experience, they’re easily some of the most playable basses and have the best necks. It’s loaded with the Bartolini MK1 humbuckers which sound fantastic and it can go from nice and modern sounding to more traditional with a quick adjustment on the preamp. It has the option of either standard or through body stringing. I’ve currently got it strung through with a fresh set of Dunlop Nickels. Considering the age of the bass, it’s in good shape and there are few light surface dings close to the controls and a few marks on the headstock which I’ve tried to capture in the pics. Everything else works perfectly fine and has a lovely low action. I’m after £550. The bass is located in Bridgwater, Somerset. I can post but it would be at the extra cost of the buyer. Collection would be perefed but I can also deliver within a certain distance as well. Any questions please ask. Thanks, Josh.

I changed the original preamp in my previous ME P/J 5 for the drop-in VTC preamp. Honestly, looking back and listening to the recordings I did with it both before and after, it wasn’t the night and day difference some made it out to be. I’m sure changing the stock pick ups as well to the full fat noiseless sets in the Metro and NYC models would be more noticeable. I’ve been corrected on this before but I believe the VTC control acts as a low pass filter for the treble frequency, so you can adjust it so that it’s no so harsh/dark sounding. I can’t speak for the passive tone side of it as I don’t ever use any active bass in passive. Currently, I have a 4 string ME JJ and it is all stock and I genuinely enjoy the preamp and find (as even Roger himself has said) keeping the treble around 40/50%, the bass at 60%, and then adding some presence on my amp gets me the nice modern hi-fi jazz bass tone that I prefer. Here’s a recent cover with it: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCfOnJdOkgr/?igsh=MWQ1YzF3dHExdDdyeQ==

There are a few very light surface marks here and there on the neck but they’re barely noticeable, and a few on the top of the headstock.I could only find one little nick which is on the back of the volute. And it’s a healthy 8lb, not the weightless bits of driftwood the newer ones tend to feel like 👍🏻

Hey Guys, This is one of the finest Ibanez basses I’ve owned, but I just fancy a change right now. The previous owner had neglected this bass for a while, but it has since been recently professionally set up and cleaned and given a fresh bill of health by Mark at Wilts Guitar Repair. This bass is roughly 20/21 years old (going by the serial number) and as such it has seen some action. There are quite a few surface dings but nothing significant and the worst of it is on the back. The original control knobs for the bass/treble/mid/mid frequency have been replaced with newer metal ones. The playability is great with a very low action. All of the technical info on this model can be found here: https://ibanez.fandom.com/wiki/SR3005E I haven’t got a spare case unfortunately, so collection from Bridgwater, Somerset would be preferred. I do have a spare box which I can use to send it, but I would have to the buyer to cover the cost of postage and insurance. Here’s a few recent recordings with it: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DA1f1usOPHv/?igsh=MWpnc201anp4ZzJ6Ng== https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_q1XqmObM1/?igsh=MTV4bGUyOTJtanh2 I’m open to trades for potentially a Jazz or Precision bass, Stingray, Lakland, Spector. Any questions please give me a message. Thanks, Josh.

Hey guys, I’ve had this rig for about 3 months now and I’ve come to realisation I only really need a combo amp, as my days of gigging are seemingly over and I spend most of my playing time going through headphones. Which means this great amp isn’t getting the full attention it deserves and I want someone else to make use out of it. We’ve got a Little Mark 3 (Italian made) which is now 11 years old and works brilliantly. I’ve noticed due to the wiring of my house that it can cause a slight buzz after the amp is switched on, but within a few minutes it goes away and doesn’t affect the tone or volume of the head at all. It is completely quiet going via the DI which is how I’ve used it predominantly since owning it. The 410 is the STD HF model, 800 watts into 8 ohms, so this thing is indeed very powerful and no issues at all and has also been very well looked after by the previous owner. The head and cab both come with a gig bag and cover which are pictured and themselves are both in great condition. I’m looking for a quick sale as I’ve found its replacement, so someone will get a bargain. £400 for both, collected from Bridgwater, Somerset. I can deliver/meet up with a certain distance as well. Any questions please ask. Thanks, Josh.
