But looks like it's going to someone who'll appreciate it
It's ok, it'll only be 40 minutes down the road from you if it you miss it too much, plus after October 3rd I'll be in Bristol every week
  2.
Has anyone had lessons from a teacher to learn this style? Has it worked?
I was taught about playing on the one briefly in college by a great local bassist called Dave Savage. It's stuck with me ever since and I thank him for giving me that understanding which I'm still working on now, and that was 4 years ago.
  3. Do you play on the bridge pick up often?
  4.
That's not funk. That's another happy-go-slap youtube'er who thinks he's go something going on, but there's no space, there is no rhythmic interest and it's far too conceited. Simplicity seems to be the hardest thing for most bass players to get to grips with when talking about this kind of music. Funk isn't some kind of magic formula that you plug into and suddenly play. There's also no prerequisite to suddenly start slapping either. This is funk. Not super tight, not super polished, but this is what people should be aiming for:
That's much more like it.
  5.
I know what you are all saying now, and yeah that's exactly what I said after watching that video, "f*** me!" do you still wanna play bass now?
While technically flawless I don't really see how that is supposed to help someone wanting to get a better grip with Funk.
  6. I'm so damn tempted for some reason...
  7.
A word for Josh, he is one of the friendliest people you could wish to meet, buy with confidence.

+1 And a fine bass player too!
Thanks guys Price drop bump, £350 with a new set of strings.
  8.
If you've had it only 4 days have you tried asking the shop you bought it from if they'll let you take it back ? I've known some do that with a minor restocking fee.
I just thought I'd offer it up on here as I'm sure someone else is waiting for one of these to pop up.
  9. I've had this for little over 4 days now and unfortunately it's not meant to be, it's in as new condition and I've still got the warranty and receipt as well. It's a good bass don't get me wrong and covers the classic tones pretty well and looks great too. Pics: As you can see in the third photo, the joint between the control plate and scratch plate is a bit off but it's nothing major at all and it came with it like that. Specs: TOJ1 4 CAR Type: Classic J 4 String Bass Body: Light Weight Poplar Neck: Maple, Natural Gloss Fingerboard: Rosewood, 20 Fret Nut: ABS Black (38mm) Scale Length: 34 inch Scale Machine Heads: Deluxe J Style Pickguard: 3 Ply Black Finish: Candy Apple Red Gloss Pickups: Passive OW 'Single Coil PJ Set' Controls: Vol | Pan | Tone Price: £300 delivered. GONE.

Having a pre-uni clear out and this has been sat under my bed for years and it's time for it to actually be resurrected and put to good use. There are some problems with it, as you'll see in the pictures it has a 5 string jazz pick up at the bridge, this bass is neck heavy and the electronics are faulty, so this would need a complete overhaul. As you can see it's dusty and grubby but a good clean up would get rid of all of that. So it's free to anyone who would like to come and get it Thanks guys, Josh.
  13. She is a solid and obviously well learned player, there's no denying that, but I feel she has no defining features to her playing, by which I mean if you were to play any of her songs to someone without knowing it was her I think most would just assume it's another fusion bassist. I don't think many people can go "Oh yes that's Tal" as soon as they hear her, whereas Vinnie is much the opposite.
  14. Bump. Just to say id also happily trade for a Lakland 44/55-02 or JO 4 and I'm now able to add a bit more money to sweeten any deal.
  15. I've got my eye on a rather nice deluxe jazz on here so I'm looking for a quicksale of £600 and that'll be the lowest I let this bass go for.
  16. How about this?

  19.
HMM shame its not a 5 as im currently thinking of moving on my early spector 5 with an east u retro pre installed, i loved the tone of my old jazzman ( which you ended up with) but i always found the neck a bit to big for me ( on a 5 anyway) good luck with the trade they are great sounding basses.
I'd kill for your Spector Lee, a true beauty. And the chance to deal with you again of course
  20. Hey Guys, I've recently acquired this bass through a trade primarily to have another Warwick again, but unfortunately I'm not getting on with the MM pick up both playing and tone wise. Many of you know these basses are very versatile with the pick up combination and as such I have been able to coax a great jazz like tone out of it at the same time have the fullness of a Stingray. This bass is 11 years old I think and has been used extensively over those years but it has been looked after as well. It does have a few dings, most notably there is a small chip of paint missing on the bottom of the neck pocket, nothing serious at all. There is a scratch on the top of the neck towards the neck pocket end, and a bit of a ding at the end of the bridge. All of which do not affect the playability of this bass what so ever. And as always with gold hardware it has started to fade a bit, mainly the controls but that's about it really. Pics: SOLD. Thanks guys, Josh.
  21.
pics gone? i wanted to have another drool...
They should still be right there, I can see them and I haven't changed anything.
  22.
hello i am very very intrested in tradeing with you but i have a 5 sting sandberg PM custom shop bass i was wondring if you would be intrested in that for your bass
Thanks for the offer Rafael but I'm not one for Precisions.
  23. Just looked up the serial number out of interest and this bass is in fact between 16-17 years old! And yet it is practically mint all over.
