Time to move this bass on as for my current project I feel I need something else. I've had this bass for a good few months and has been brilliant in all areas, both playability and tonality it rivals a Sadowsky I use to have and just generally oozes expert craftsmanship which most have come to the expect from Bernie. This is indeed a Prototype and as such it is inscribed in the neck joint, so here's a picture to save hassle: Bernie Goodfellow GBIV Standard Prototype Serial No: 001: Built 25 November 1995. Initialled and dated by Bernie J Goodfellow (B.J.G). For a 14 year old bass it is in pretty good condition, there are a few dings on the back and some minor buckle rash and only a minor ding by the neck on the front. Anyways, Pictures: I tired to highlight the minor ding at the front as best as I could, and also to show the minor wear on the bridge which is still fully functional. Specs: Birdseye maple neck and fret board Quilted maple body. EMG Soap Bar Pick Ups Black BadAss II Bridge Black Schaller Tuners Black Schaller Drop D Tuner. 9 Volt Electronics I've recently strung up this bass with some DR Marcus Miller Fat Beams as well. Price: £600 Collected inc. Hardcase u]Trade Bait: Marcus Miller Jazz Bass Spector Rebop 4 or 5 String Warwick Streamer Stage 1 4 String Musicman Stingray 4 String Or any other nice Jazz basses. Any other questions or anything just ask . Thanks Guys, Josh.
You'd be passing Rich if you come up from Zummerzet, unless you take the direct route
I was planning on going up to Bristol and then going over the new bridge and then letting the Tom-tom do the rest.

Go for the GK. I may be biased but it's a well established fact that GK's are best when they are matched up, purely because of the Bi-amping facility which does give your overall tone a subtle and tamed Hi-Fi edge. I have tried a Shuttle 6.0 through one of my 2x12 Neo's and I'll just say that I can't get behind the hype they have, all be it impressive for it's weight and size but there was no warmth (Even using the Tube preamp which to my ear did nothing but make it sound worse) and was quite underwhelming. Also, having had a fair few Warwick's and amps myself (Eden, EBS etc...) I've found that the GK has been the best to play them through, it's so easy to control and tame the the Warwick tone and make it sound how you want.

I'd love to go if I could get lift to Cardiff.

A potential Golden oldie: And quite possibly the new standard of Bass Gurning.

This is roughly 2 years old, and potentially a winner:
4 string fans!!!, playing 5 strings doesn't make u a better player.
Being obsessed with seemingly only Flea and frighteningly singled minded, somehow that makes you better than a good percentage of bassists who play 5 strings as part of their successful career? Honestly, going from your About Me section on your profile I thought you'd be at least a bit open minded enough to appreciate why 5 string players play 5's in the first place. You have started a good few threads quite lately that have revealed to the forum that you really have a long way to go before you appreciate the bass itself, regardless of who is playing it or how high they're wearing their bass. You either leave this kind of attitude behind now or let it hinder your learning and playing on the whole.

Can't help but think your missing Sadowsky Barrie.

I bet your active basses must feel a little threatened
Really? I think he should starve. [/sarcasm] If Shuker's now charging £2500 for a bass, he's in the big boy league and doesn't have the pedigree, IMO/IME.
Joe you are like the Russian Police. Stern, Stern but fair.

I'd say just get the 1001RBII and match it up with a GK Neo 2x12 and you'll be sorted, but obviously I'm biased. I've got 2 but I only realy use one and I prefer the tone and volume I get from using the one.

In short, No.

A quicky of the GB Spitfire Prototype which I've now got: For a 14 year old bass it's still in pretty damn good nick and sounds just as good as a Sadowsky I use to have.

I've had this for a little while but I have only used it sparingly and it's just gathering dust. I bought it primarily for my Squier VMJ but since I'm upgrading the pick ups this will almost be made redundant, so I'm sure someone else can make use out of it. Here's the info from the Aguilar page: Features: Pre/Post DI Unbalanced output can drive a power amp AGS circuitry Cut and boost of treble, mid and bass frequencies Fully sweepable midrange frequencies Powered by two nine volt batteries, phantom power or optional universal power supply Ground lift switch Heavy Duty steel construction Specs: Inputs: One 1/4" jack Outputs: One 1/4" jack, One XLR (nominal output - 14 dBu balanced) EQ: Bass +/- 18 dB @ 40 Hz Mid +/- 17 dB @ 180 Hz to 1 kHz Treble +/- 18 dB @ 4 kHz Controls: Ground lift switch Pre/Post DI switch Engage switch AGS switch Price: £80 includes delivery. It's in mint condition but unfortunately it didn't come with the 18v power supply, so I'll supply two new 9 volt batteries. Thanks all, Josh.

Josh replied to cd_david's topic in General Discussion
