Completely forgot about that bassline, love that album as well. I'd say it's definitely a real track as opposed to synth. I'll have a crack at it in a bit.
I always prefer nice, well tuned. small toms like his because they sound more musical and less tub thumpy.
The boy has taste. He was for ages a big Travis Barker fan and we were both in a Pop-Punk band together for a short while, but we we're the only ones who wanted to actually become good at our instruments, so he went and joined a Southern Hardcore Rock band called Young Hollywood, and even recorded with Dan from Sikth, but now he's settled in his Indie band.
IMO the best drummersare the ones that canmake the ximpest of beats sound like the best thing in the world. It's all about confidence. What YOU need to do is just follow whatever he's doing.
+1 Just listen to my mate make Indie drumming interesting:

He is one of the best Bassist's in the genre, Sam and Ryan Martinie really do make Nu-Metal worth while.

Although MJ may be gone, at least we've still got Prince. I've posted this before, but here's Prince with Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan. Andrew Gouche is holding the groove.

V950 It's sat gestating in a case in the furthest corner of my room. It was a great beginner/intermediate bass and had a great bridge growl when the electronics worked properly whereas now their rather shagged.

My pet drummer is my best mate, basically just start of simple, play basic grooves which both give you breathing space to understand which your both doing and what you can do. Play a cover to get yourselves use to each other and then really it's a case of making sure your grooves lock together and being able to guess exactly what he's going to do and when.
Some fantastic gear and an excellent choice in computing. You're obviously a connoisseur. Can't help with the recording problem I'm afraid, haven't used my Mac for that yet. Got a little gadget called an iMic that plugs into to a usb port and has a 3.5mm jack the other end, but as I say haven't done anything with it. You may have already done so but you could always try the support pages on the Apple website if you've got a few years to waste trying to find something relevant to what you are looking for.
I posted this a good while ago, but suffice to say I have so sussed out how to record with my Mac and this bass can be heard in action here! Thanks for the advice though man.

More than decent.
Thanks man! Now I just need some Wizard 84's and I'm done! -
Hey Guy's, Has anyone ordered the Bass Sessionz DVD from gospelchops.com? I placed a pre-order mid June and was told it would be shipped on the 1st July but haven't seen anything yet and I don't think the clips on youtube will satisfy me for much longer. T
I put in a order for the second Drum Sessions almost a year ago and still nothing. Damn Christian Thieves.

I'm tuned down a full step down on both of my 5's and my 4, all play and sound brilliantly.
Violent and Funky - The Infectious Grooves Granted its a triplet feel, but I defy anyone to play that song with two fingers and think its easier than three. Not just once round the groove, the whole song....
Fair enough, but I couldn't enjoy because it just sounds to harsh and messy, well it is Crab-Monkey after all. But indeed your right 3 fingers would be required.

Have a look at a Lakland Joe Osbourne or a Daryl Jones. Brilliant alternatives IMHO.
TBH when you play bass beyond a certain speed it just sounds like a series of clicking noises, useful if you want to play trade shows or mate with a few species of insect but not for anything else.
+1 I've never heard any displays of using 3 fingers that have ever sounded as clean or controlled as something done by 2 fingers. My advice would be to start out with 2 and stick to it if it keeps you happy, only consider 3 fingers if your seriously concerned with more speed.
