1. Good question. Stax for me, even as a kid. I only got to like more Motown later, when I started playing bass at age of about 20
2.
We could do with your address and an idea of when you are out! Seriously though, anybody looking for a guitar won't get anything anywhere near as good for the price you are asking. They are keepers too!
Thanks Dunc - you were right and this baby is now sold for a bit less than my asking price of £895
3.
They have a real beauty in the gallery Camden, it's a 64 in only white, I have played it and it's to die for however, they are asking £4500 so a 63 in lake placid looks like great value to me. Good luck
Thanks RJB, it is a lovely bass this 63P and I think it is very keenly priced. There's been quite a bit of interest from various quarters, but nobody has yet come up with enough cash to take it home.....Luckily I am in no big rush.
4.
Hello, Can someone please tell whats happened to Phil Boot guitars had alot of work done in 1998 but now I have seen only an underwear shop in its place in Long Eaton. He'll be in his early sixties now, but someone who's been making them for so long might be in a corner of a work shop in garage somewhere...anyone...please ... thanks DD

That's a blast from the past, not seen Phil for 12 years or so! he is perhaps the finest repair guy in the country. The Paulman EUB he (along with Paul McNab) made me is an amazing instrument. Last I heard he was working for Toyota in Derby, but like I say not seen him for a long time. Would love to get in touch with him again.
I used to use Phil Boot too - great technician and all-round lovely bloke. I heard Paul McNab died 4/5 years ago now and Phil was put out of business (due to cashflow) by some dubious characters who ordered a couple of guitars from him and never paid for them, on top of this his daughter was ill in Australia; so he shut up shop. Last I heard was he was working in the Toyota factory too. A great loss to all guitarists and bass players around Notts.
5. We do this in my band and absolutley nail it, which is probably why I am playing guitar not bass in this band!
6. Well Duncan and the assassin haven't managed to rob the SG1000 yet; so it's still available.....bump
7. Sold for the asking price pending completion in person on Monday
8. And yes it blew every Gibbo LPs I tried out the water. I am only selling it cos I managed to land an all original '68 Gibson LP Gold Top, which is simply my dream guitar.
9. That plan is impressive; I better up my insurance in case you decide the simple thing is to team up and rob it from mine!!
10. Just a little weekend bump. Get it while it's still available! I am getting quite a few enquiries from this and other places I am selling the bass.
11. http://www.nottinghampost.com/New-Year-s-Eve-2016-13-things-Nottingham/story-28406253-detail/story.html Best one is live Disco band at Pitcher & Piano and it's free entry. Best to get there by 9pm, as it will be very popular.
12.
L series P Bass? Don't do this to me.
Sorry Dan, it has to be done and yes it is an L-series P
13. Getting some serious interest in this great guitar from other adverts elsewhere. Two people are trying to sell guitars to buy the SG1000. So it may not be here for much longer. get it, while you can!.....BUMP!
14. Thanks for the bump, Shonks. This is indeed a cool bass, maybe even über cool! In fact it is so cool that the sale is getting hot. A deal has been agreed in principle via another advert elsewhere, but will not be completed til after NYE. So this may be your last chance to jump on one of the nicest custom Jazz Basses around and incredible.......BUMp!
15. Just a little pre-Christmas bump here........amazing how many instruments are for sale just before the big man gets stuck in the chimney
16.
And now a guitar has two more strings than a guitar!
And now I play guitar more than bass.....weird! One of these days I'll catch up and have as many strings as all the modern players!
17. Back in early 80s a bass had two less strings than a guitar......
