Extremely jealous of your tour btw, that sounds fantastic- some amazing basslines in KB's stuff, especially John Giblin's fretless playing on Never For Ever... gutted I'm gigging myself when you're playing the Liverpool Phil or I'd have booked tickets before writing this.
Mate, I'm like a pig in poo playing these songs, very privileged indeed! Yep, the fretless stuff (especially Breathing) is my fave in the set. I have become a massive fan of Kate just from being involved in this. Gonna keep my eye out in the for sale section for DI's etc - cheers for the input mate

Hello chaps, interesting thread! I'm doing a theatre tour next month with the Kate Bush tribute and it's gonna be no amps on stage, with in ear monitoring only. so I'm gonna be looking at getting something like this. Not sure which one though... Gonna be running two passive basses, both fretted and fretless (with some chorus on the fretless stuff, via my old Boss chorus pedal) - I know some of these have a facility for two inputs. Any recommendations anyone?
Just finished mine for this month… https://soundcloud.c...b/make-it-right I've been listening to a lot of old Bristolian trip hop recently - Massive Attack and Portishead in particular - which I think has leaked into my musical subconscious Was hoping to persuade Mrs Skol to sing the vocal on it, but she's crazy busy with work (stressed teacher) hence I ended up doing it myself this evening. A few bum notes but heh, who's counting. Cheers all! And thanks to Bob for picking a cracking picture - it's sparked a lot of different ideas by the sound of things.
Whoooaa, Skol strikes again!! Stunning production once again paul. It's like Bristol trip hop meets The Beloved! The news clips at the end are just superb and fitting too, a nice icing on a tremendous cake! Now, that's certainly upset the voting apple cart for me...
Gotta say the words I am using arent mine they are famous quotes about fear, I wish I had come up with them but I am not that clever, just realised I hadnt mentioned this in my earlier post and dont want to mislead anyone into thinking they are my creations, I wish.
Well, in this case, I'd call it artistic licence mate Think of yourself as a messenger delivering timeless truths that have been handed down for generations. The whole notion of fear as a suffocating blanket was floating around my mind when I was trying to get some inspiration this month, but I just couldn't get going with it. I had a working title, "The sea of lost souls" - which was kind of coming from the same idea, I just didn't know how to convey it musically. I was stuck on trying to convey it too conventionally, as a song with words, but I was making myself laugh with how corny it was coming out To do it in a more narrative style as you have really works, so hats off

Hello chaps! I was terrified that my pic would end up being really uninspiring, but how wrong I was! Some excellent work so far, loved listening to them. Some excellent interpretations of the pic. Love the eastern vibe from Garry's, but Stephen Houghton - genius! Two hours work?? Incredible result mate! Typically wishing I'd had a go too now, but it's been a bit of a mad month for me and when I did have some time, I just couldn't get going with it - hopefully have a go next month.

I'm kind of in the same boat mate. Trust me to pick a picture and then be unable to get something down!! Very busy this month too, so not sure I'm gonna get anything in, but I'm really looking forward to seeing what people come up with from my pic

Rob drove up from Malvern, Worcestershire to Liverpool to purchase my Precision bass yesterday and was a total gent. He knew I was short of cash and didn't hesitate to come and pick the bass up the night after I'd marked it as sold. What a trooper! Lots of time for the fella and delighted my bass has gone to a good home. Hopefully do business again sometime soon Rob, cheers bud

Having owned (and just sold today!) a CIJ Fender P, i would very much recommend them. Fretmeister has got a very nice example up for sale as we speak: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1907005 If it's anything like mine was, you could do a lot worse than take a punt on it I have also owned a fiesta red Classic Vibe Squier P bass. It was a very nice P bass indeed, but i have to say that the CIJ edged it in terms of quality.
