1. Love the pickguard on this, very unusual! The guard on mine is tort but this is a little more special
2.
great feel and great sound.
Definitely
3.
I've always loved the bass line on that track, never realsied it was Guy
Well, the original version(from A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON) was played by Tony Levin. Fantastic bassline, one of my faves.
4. 2.15 onwards - gotta love that sound!! (and that bass ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdZJzPM_aLY
5. ..........(squirms)
6. I think we would all agree that the manner in which 73Jazz has conducted himself has been amazing since this whole debacle began! I would have no hesitation in entering a transaction with you myself and I'm sure the rest of the BC community would +1 that. I'd be spitting venom big time on here by now!! Chapeau to you sir and I only hope this all ends well for you soon
7.
deriding the abilities of others
Yes, he was a bit naughty regarding the abilities of John Taylor of Duran Duran, I seem to recall.... Still, I loved the show and love his playing
8. I love the octaver bit he plays on Madonna's LIKE A PRAYER (the "just like a prayer, you know I'll take you there..." part)
9. I met Guy back in 1990, top bloke, very courteous and friendly. I loved his playing with Floyd and his playing was a big influence on me. Went to see his stand up thing in Salford Quays a few years back. Very good fun and got see the infamous "Betsy" Jazz bass close up, as he played a few of his most famous lines. Only problem was, there was a fire alarm in the middle of the show, which left everybody a bit bewildered, even Guy himself lol - the show just kind of fizzled out when everybody came back into the building for the last bit...
10. The first one seemed just the job, Noel... Yeah, the second one wasn't as mutilated as some that I've seen. Perhaps he might have even had the original pickups etc... Anyway, one day.....
11. Thought so mate. The no strings thing would not be an issue for me if I was buying. These are lovely basses. Mythste on here is selling a black version; I went round to his place and had a go, very nice indeed and for virtually the same money as this one. Was tempted to buy but got a long term plan to buy a BB2000 some day, when funds allow - and when one appears!! Love the Yams, so have a Yammy love bump
12. Was this on eBay recently? Only remember because of the lack of strings...
13. Marvelous example of a lovely bass!
14. Little bit too far from Liverpool, to be honest :-) Was being tempted by the Hohner. Had one for years, then defretted it and in turn regretted it haha :-)
15. Whereabouts are you vmax?
16. Like buses these it seems; none for ages and then a few turn up...typical! Only problem with this one, pickups and knobs have been changed, hipshot added http://www.ebay.com/...13#ht_500wt_949 Butchered!
17. Ever the tease Noel, ever the tease!! That sounds like a good deal
18.
It is nice, I must also resist. Unless i want to live in the garage of course.
Yes mate. Building a collection of basses would be far easier living on one's own eh
19. I spotted this today, very nice example indeed Would be tempted if I didn't already have one (albeit a later 1991 version) As Noel stated above though, the thru neck BB's are the ones to have, if you can get one. My BB1200 is thru neck and my 1100s is bolt on - both sound great but I lean more towards the 1200. Still craving a BB2000 to complete the trio, as I'm sure Noel won't be surprised to hear, eh Noel
20. mmmm, lovely that is Love the natural Yams!
21.
Buy a BB2000 or BB3000 instead - far better basses for the same money.
+1
22. Gorgeous bass, all the best with it...
23. That is outstanding!!!
24. I've got the four string of this. Great basses for little money...
25. Have an "I wish my 1100s was this colour" sort of bump
