1. Went to Ste's last night and had a play on this. You're not gonna get much better for this money! Had the unmistakable warm punchy thump I've come to know from Yamahas and the only reason it didn't come home with me is post Xmas skintness! Stephen made me feel very welcome too; a top bloke, we had a good gab about all things bass for a couple of hours :-) I'm gonna keep my eye on this and if nobody grabs it soon, I may just have it myself when funds allow. Buy with confidence undoubtedly ;-)
2. My one of these is a later Taiwan made model (1991) - fantastic bass and this must be even better being an older Jap one. Love the natural finish too - someone's gonna love it
3. My mate has had his guitar amps fixed by Roland. Does a great job I believe
4. A very sad loss to the bass world RIP Pete.
5. Oh how I'd love 5 minutes peace, have you been a fly on the wall at my house? Kids going nuts 24/7 I really can't afford it if I'm being honest Ste but would love to have a tinkle on it. Where are you in the 'pool?
6. Oh bloody 'ell, yet another Yam to tempt me and in my home town too!! Don't even need the video to convince me either (good job though!) Yamahas are quality, no question Bloody bargainous this is, c'mon somebody, you won't regret buying a Yamaha
7.
These were the days - before the 2nd offspring!
Oh my good lord!! Remember that TV series, "The House of Elliot"
8. Yes Martin, that eBay one is the very model...
9. sorry Gary, trust me bringing up that old memory for you again...
10. Yep, too true regarding the GAS circle Yes, love the Yams, particularly the old BB's. My BB1200 is just like that 2000 and pretty mint for a 1979 bass! Here it is with the rest of the stable I did have a 1500A like yourself, but traded it for the 1100s - loved the 1500A but the sound wasn't quite what I needed
11. It's come at a bad time for me anyway to be honest, can't afford it (The bass you really want comes up when you've just bought one etc etc) Yep, customs charges are a right pain! This won't be around for long, I'm pretty certain...
12. Available only to US buyers, but what a beauty! A vintage Yamaha BB2000 in natural, with original case http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-BB2000-Bass-w-OHSC-MIJ-EXC-/170755013006?pt=Guitar&hash=item27c1cab98e#shId One day....
13. A lovely 'Ray catching some rays Very nice!
14. Cheers H It's reasonably roadworn to tell the truth, but the light in this picture has given it a bit of sparkle!
15.
Sorry, perhaps I wasn't quite clear with my description, the three way selector has a passive position as well as two selectable pre EQ setting positions, it isn't a separate switch, thanks for pointing that out Bobby
Ahh, I see... I never knew that the three way selector had a passive setting. I think I just used to use the 3rd position all the time.... Great bass chaps, come and get it! You could do a lot worse...
16. Basses on the settee? Oh, go on then My four workhorses, as per my sig...
17.
Sweet bass! Which strings do you use? I'm rocking a fretless Stingray 5 myself and I was thinking of trying a set of D'addario Chromes on mine. What I'd really like are TI Jazz Flats but I can't justify the extra price of the B string at the moment.
Only just got the bass to be honest. I think it's got Roto flats on it, which sound fine to my ears. Been toying with trying Chromes myself though, wondering if they'll have a little more sustain to them, difficult to find in a flatwound I know...
18. My one of these never had a passive switch, would've liked one though...
19. Do you have any more pictures?
20. Had a headless jack bass and a B bass (basically the headed version of the aforementioned jack) - both were awesome - the first decent basses I ever had. Well recommended
21. Bloody hell, that was quick Bob! Were you waiting for that final tenner price drop Pm on the way....
22. Ok chaps, final price drop bump 90 quid posted If nobody wants it, I'm gonna get hold of a tolex covered Trace 1518 and throw it in there
23. loads of Giblin's basses on there it seems....
