I think it's the original one. The top layer of it (the tort bit) is even starting to Peel back a little around the edges, especially near the fingerboard. The pau ferro board is absolutely immaculate! Loving the warmth from it. That and flatwounds seem to tame the trademark MM "Boing" which is desirable on a fretless I think. Gets the Pino Paul Young vibe no probs Slight bit of yellowing here and there on the finish, I dunno if this is common with the Mary Kays ...?

Like others have said, pity they didn't all play the same piece of music... I've just put a Dimarzio model P in my P bass and it sounds great!

You been looking at that one on ebay? Me too... I think it's passive only. I've got a 1100s which does both; very similar in appearance but has a small switch to select the active, and has three extra knobs for bass mid and treble in active mode (mine is also bolt on of course) Mine actually sounds better in passive mode. The thru neck on this 1000s will be a further advantage I think. A winner I reckon

Typical innit... I almost bought the orange label one, as they were going cheap in Watford Valves It turned out to be one of those "if it ain't broke don't fix it" things; I've put the original driver back in and it's fine. If truth be known, I was looking to save some weight by putting the neo in. It did make a very noticeable weight reduction too. Lightweight isn't everything though eh. Sound is king!

Just bought a Celestion BN15-400X to go in my Trace 1215 combo. Or, perhaps my combo's amp section (200 watts) is under-powered for the Celestion?? I dunno.... Maybe somebody could enlighten me...? Mr Fitzmaurice, are you there.....?? I wish I'd done a bit of research first The BN15-400X will be appearing in the for sale section here shortly anyway, for anyone that's interested. Still in as new condition
