1. Hmmm....I'd like to think that someone wouldn't take advantage of another on here to offload a faulty item but he only had it a week and sold it on so I guess the guy who sold it to me had the same done to him. The back panel has obviously been off at some point because the screws were not put back properly Any idea of how to go about finding a tech in the Hampshire area?
Sounds like an internal problem that would need a tech to repair. Maybe the seller didn't rip you off - maybe he/she didn't know it was faulty - I try to think the best of people! If it's any consolation, the synth sounds are sh*te anyway!! Col
2. All other effects work but the bass synth acts just like having a loose instrument cable (although it's not) it crackles, comes on then goes off intermittently. I bought this unit from a user on here and until now had no reason to use this particular effect so only discovered today that I had been ripped off! Any help to sort would be appreciated. Thanks
3.
Sure i can't temp you with an original band based in Hampshire ? Sniper
Tempting but looking for covers band who gigs regularly and more local.

5. Guess no-one needs a bass player in Hampshire. Must be drummers who are in demand this year....lol
6. Thanks, but not after the Not Foo Fighters version. As requested in my original post: 'a copy of that played on the artiste's recording (Gerry Rafferty) rather than an improvised bassline'
7. Thought as much....no-one has learned it :0(
8. With regards to earning money, you will need to get in a decent band to do so. It takes a lot of practice & commitment to get a decent band together so they will want to maintain their reputation....you will be expected to be up to scratch in this case. As a guitarist, I've been in an established covers band for over 6yrs. We don't need to rehearse unless we are introducing a new batch of songs so if we were auditioning (but we're not) and thought someone fitted the bill they would have to learn the setlist properly in their own time within a limited period. Only then would we be prepared to pay out for a studio for a full band rehearsal and that would be the only one; if they were'nt gig ready we'd use a dep until we found a replacement. Sounds harsh but we've done our share of shelling out for rehearsing to get where we are. We definitely wouldn't consider a bass player without decent gear. If it's beer money you're after, I'm sure there will be students around to form a band and get away with just enough to do that in your area. Good luck!
9. A mixture over the last couple of weeks: REHAB WONDERWALL CRAZY LITTLE THING CALLED lOVE BROWN SUGAR ALRIGHT NOW SUPERSTITION ECHO BEACH SEX ON FIRE TEQUILA
10.
In the last week of so I've learned/relearned - 'Too Young To Die' - Jamiroquai 'Sir Duke' - Stevie Wonder 'Rio' - Duran Duran Lots of nice muted notes and frantic playing - great for a workout! I think I'll start most of my warmups with one or more of these tunes!
Ah that's good....can you send me the tab for Rio or do you just improvise?
11. Oops, Baker Street of course. What's the bets none of you know it....lol
12. Apologies if this is the wrong place to put it but as there isn't a section for tab requests I didn't know where else would be best. If anyone has/knows Gerry Rafferty's version: a copy of that played on the artiste's recording rather than an improvised bassline I'd appreciate it. Thanks
13. I know one who's looking for a band. PM me with details.
14. pmsl @ carp on your lens....sounds a bit fishy to me!
15. My cab is not carpeted so the Markbass wedge is a no goer :0(
16. I'm in two bands. As a GUITARIST I play for this band: www.myspace.com/redglory1 Demo was recorded 4 yrs ago so ignore the crappy attempt at basslines, we now have a decent bass player! As a BASS PLAYER, I've just joined a 6 piece band called 'The Sofa Racers' but as yet no music on myspace.
17. Ah....I don't have the 1212L cab which has an angled speaker. Mine is the BMF series.
18. I was a bit concerned about placing the cab on an actual stand because surely it'll lose some bottom end will it not? My cab hasn't got castors either. My schroeder is loud enough but I'd prefer it at a tilt so the sound projects better towards my ears. Having looked at the Markbass wedge, I'm not sure it would work with my cab as from what I can gather it velcors onto the cab. Correct me if I'm wrong. Any thoughts?
19. I'm thinking about tilting my 1212 schroeder cab by using a wedge. Wanted to know if anyone has experience with one of these or where to buy one. I notice Markbass do one. Suggestions?
20. Having tried the same amp through Eden cabs I came to the conclusion that Ashdown exaggerate the output of their amps. Buy a 4 ohm Schroeder BMF 1212 cab....so light you can pick it up with one hand but handles 1000w. That's what I've got. No point in humping huge great stacks around unless you're planning on playing huge venues in which case will require you to go through the PA anyway. THE SPEAKERS ARE AN IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR SET UP!
21. Laney RB4 200w RMS. Never gigged, only used a dozen times for rehearsal so immaculate and in perfect working order. Collection only....I'm based in sunny Hampshire. £150 ono
