***Withdrawn*** Up for sale is my 2009 EBMM 25th Anniversary 4 string HSS bass. This was bought new by me in April 2012 and it is MINT condition. This is a beautiful and very versatile bass. Built by Musicman during 2009 to celebrate the 25th year that Ernie Ball had owned the Musicman company, it has a flame maple top and a maple fingerboard. I really cannot stress enough just how well built and beautiful this bass is and the range of tones is stunning. This one has the HSS configuration (Humbucker at the bridge, Single Coil at the neck and Single coil in the middle position. Would consider an American Fender Jazz 2012 on (custom shop pups) as a part trade with cash my way – ideally in Olympic white with a maple board as I had one and regretted selling it! Gassing for another one now! I’m based in Bolton. Will post at buyers expense but would prefer the buyer to collect. Here's what Ernie Ball said about the bass: A quarter century of passion and excellence culminate as Ernie Ball celebrates 25 years with Music Man! New for 2009, the Music Man 25th Anniversary bass features a lightweight body, dramatic styling, and state-of-the-art electronics not found on any other instrument. The epitome of form and function, this new anniversary bass offers a wide array of distinctive sounds. Utilizing a cutting edge push button system, you can combine active, passive, series and parallel modes creating endless tonal combinations like never before. Our Music Man design team has engineered optimal contours, weight and balance, making this instrument very comfortable to play. The 25th anniversary bass exhibits a classic bolt-on design, with an ash body, mahogany tone block, bound premium maple top, which together provide maximum resonance and massive low end. Features Body wood: ash bookmatched maple top Mahogany tone block Body Finish: high-gloss polyester Body bindings: cream Bridge: Music Man chrome-plated, hardened steel bridge plate with stainless steel saddles Scale Length: 34" (86.4 cm) Neck radius: 11" (27.9 cm) Headstock size: Only 7" (17.8 cm) long Frets: 22 - high profile, wide Neck width: 1-5/8" (41.3 mm) at nut 2-9/16" (65.1 mm) at last fret Neck wood: select maple neck Fingerboard: rosewood Fret markers: mother of pearl dots Neck finish: gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend Neck colors: matching painted headstock Tuning machines: custom Music Man, with tapered string posts Truss rod: adjustable - no component or string removal Neck attachment: 5 bolts - perfect alignment with no shifting sculpted neck joint allows smooth access to higher frets Electronic shielding: Graphite acrylic resin coated body cavity and aluminum control cover Controls: Passive preamp: 500kOhm volume and 250kOhm tone - .047 µF tone capacitor Active preamp: 4-band EQ — 25kOhm volume, treble, high-mid, low-mid, bass Thanks for looking. If it's versatility you want.....
It sounded great if I'm honest. Very clear sounding without being too sterile, plenty of oomf and the boost low/high switches boost just the right amount for passages in songs where a little bit of a kick is required. The sound guy was impressed with it as well, saying how good the DI from it was. At the moment I feel like I picked the ideal amp for my needs if I'm honest. I'll see how I feel with it over the next month or so...after the honeymoon period has worn off.
I bought a GB Stl9.0 a few years ago with. 2 x berg HD 210's. Still in the honeymoon period - not looked at another amp or cabs since! Fantastic rig.

If you've already got a bass that does the job then carry on doing what you're doing and get saving for the Fodera. It seems like this is what you really want so remain focussed on achieving that goal. Anything else just won't be the Fodera you desire. Of course in the meantime you could buy second hand high end basses and flip them without losing too much money until you've saved up enough for your dream bass.
