Withdrawn EBMM 25th Anniversary 4 string HSS flame/maple

I have the USA Deluxe which has the pan between the 2 pups and a 3 band active pre-amp. I run both pups full on (pan in the middle) and the the eq on the bass flat. On the amp (GB Shuttle 9.0 with 2 x Berg HD210's) I have both the gain and gain volume set at 1 o'clock, the bass and treble flat and boost the low mids (mid freq sweep to 9 o'clock and the mid to 2 o'clock). Volume to suit. This gives me a fantastic tone and it cuts through a treat. Never really need to change from these settings through a gig as that sound suits everything we do. Very happy!

[s]Back up for sale [/s]Withdrawn - Musicman 25th Anniversary 4string HSS bass. Serial no is F22747 and the DOB is 01/05/2009. Bought new in March of this year, this bass has had very little use. It is in mint condition as is the hard shell case which is of course included in the sale. I'm based in Bolton and i'm looking for[s] £2200 [/s]£1800. Thanks for looking - any questions please ask. As you say - personal preference, but once you've decided i'd go to the basses for sale section on this very forum. Some superb instruments at realistic prices from knowledgable and dedicated people who share the common interest. Personally i'd be looking for a MIA standard P or J. A 2010 model on would be a good option due to the upgrades/quality control improvements that were introduced then but like I say, it is personal preference. One of the deluxe models (if you like active basses) would also be an option for you to consider. I have a 2009 deluxe jazz and it is superb and very underestimated bass. As such, second-hand prices on these make them something of a bargain

I bought 2 of the HD 2 X 10 cabs from Mark earlier this year and stuck a GB STL9.0 on top. As chris b has said, no difference in sound from the shop to the venue. I use one of the 2 x 10's (8ohm) for rehersals and pair them up for gigs (less lugging around) and the 2 x 10's are more manageable than the 4 x 10. Added bonus is more air to push and the rig is taller than the 4 x 10 so closer to my ears. Fantastic set up, really happy with the rig. I've never lifted the HS cabs but believe they were lighter.

Hi Ioic Bass - thanks for your offer. I have decided to withdraw the 25th Anniversary from sale. She's a keeper (for the time-being at least). I have just had a look at your Benavente Vortex and it is indeed a stunning looking bass. If I hadn't just bonded with the 25th I would be seriously considering a trade with you. Best of luck with your sale.

Hi all - i've decided to withdraw this bass as i've just spent the weekend bonding with it. Some subtle tweaks on the EQ has her sounding just right. Gigged her on Saturday night and it's now all falling into place. Thanks for all the PM's/trade offers etc. Up for sale is my EBMM 25[sup]th[/sup] Anniversary 4 string bass (the model which later became the Reflex). This is in the HSS configuration and has a book matched flame maple top over an ash body (with a mahogany tone block) and a maple board. The quality of finish on this bass is just stunning. There are no marks, scratches, dents or dings of any sort – it is unmarked, mint, and absolutely as new. Of course, this comes with the Music man original hard shell case. I bought this bass new in March of this year but it has only been played a handful of times. The serial no. is F22747 and the date of birth is 1[sup]st[/sup] May 2009. The history of the bass so far was that it was supplied to Colin at Sound Me Out in September 2009 where it was checked, photographed then put into climatically controlled storage, un-played and not displayed until it was bought by me – factory fresh as it were. Why am I selling? Well, I’ve realised that I tend to stick with one tone when playing with my band. That tone is what I’ve been getting from my Fender Jazz deluxe which I’ve been using for the last couple of years. That is the tone that is in my head and it just works for me in the mix. Whenever I use the 25[sup]th[/sup] I end up dialing in the active jazz tone and sticking with it (middle single coil pickup). I suppose it’s what I’m expecting to hear and everything else just sounds too different to me in the context of what I’m used to hearing. It is a waste, to have all the versatility that this bass offers and not to be using it. So, it’s time to offer her to someone who will get the benefit of all this versatility. She’s up for sale for £2200. I may be open for trades but I think I’ve already found Nirvana with my Jazz. However you never know – there’s still a lot of GAS left in me even after the sobering realisation that I already have what I’ve been looking for (if that makes any sort of sense!). Ed Friedland (The Bass whisperer) wrote a review of the same spec of bass which can be viewed here. Sound clips are also available in this review. http://bassemporium.com/?p=4446 I would prefer for any potential buyer to come and give her a try (I’m in Bolton) and to collect when funds have cleared. Alternatively I could arrange to ship at the purchasers cost.

Yep......I miss my SR4 so much. I will have another when funds allow. Selling seemed like the 'sensible' idea at the time as it wasn't being used much (my Jazz was my go to bass) and I wanted the cash to upgrade the suspension on my motorbike. Ended up not upgrading the suspension and spent a load more cash on a new EBMM 25TH anniversary 4 string HSS. Damn GAS!!! Brilliant bass and my Jazz is still used but I do miss the Stingray. Also wouldn't mind playing around with a fretless! I spend too much time on the 'for sale' section on here - it can't be healthy! That is all.

Hi Chris, +1 for the Dingwall to try (it's on my list to try myself) but also worth trying a Musicman 25th Anniversary in either HH or HSS configurations. Happy hunting :-)
