Can knocks and chips in the wood of a headstock be repaird or patcheed up on a unpainted headstock without it looking awful and if so how?

I mean a brick type thing. (I beleive that is the tecnical term.)

How much are they worth second-hand? I couldn't find any info in my search.

I've never been to a bass show but I completely agree that alot of people seem to have a need to slap all the time. I used to be impressed by it when I first started playing at about 14 and couldn't do it myself but as soon as I learnt how to do it the novelty wore off.

I would really like to try out one of those Retrovibes.

The only bass I wouldn't gig is vintage/rare ones. Anything else I'd be happy to use, but of course would keep an eye on it all the time. If oyu have insurance then that is just a bonus.

Well I'm pretty sure he passed away a while ago so this is a bit late. And if I remember right Guru is the rapper the persn responsible for the innovative beats was DJ Premier. But yeah Gang Starr were a lot better than alot of the crap that passes for hip-hop. And Eminem didn't used to be to bad, some very clever word play sometimes but his last 2/3 albums where utter tosh and obviously aimed at topping the charts.

If it was their playing then tell them, better to hear it from a friend than get laughed at by someone they don't know. So long as it is put nicely, and they are reasnable, they should take heed and practice more. If you just don't like their style then keep it to yourself.

Ok, I'm convinced, what is the best way to start learning how to read? I know a teacher would probably ideal but what would the best place/way to start learning for free?

Seriously paypal can take money directly from your bank account in the event someone wants a refund? I use a bank account that only has around 100 pound in at any one time, unless I'm buying something specific, and I don't have an agreed overdrat. So if they took a refund of say 1500 pound for a bass, when the money was not in the account I'd have to pay huge bank charges aswell I imagine. It's lucky I don't sell anything on ebay but I'm still shocked...

Take a look at the sticky at the top of this forum and if you look Ibanezs take a look at the ICB 300EX, you can find them pretty cheap (I got one for under 300, about 280 with a hard case I think.) I just has quick google search and they seem to be going for £400+ which is a bit steep as you could get somethging better for that much.

Can you record sound clips?

That is a strange reason to doubt it lol. So do you like how this plays and sounds more or less than the others you have tried?
