1. Hi, I'm intrested in buying the DOD FX25B, do you have any idea of the shipping costs to Belgium? kind regards, Don.
2. Hi Marty, i might be intrested in the bass-wah, do you have any idea of the shipping costs to Belgium? ps: i've heard you are planning to sell the mayones again, was there something you didn't like about the bass? grtz, your bassbuddy, Don.
3. I'ved just bought a Modulus Flea bass from Jmesa, and everything went really well: good, fast communication, great service and super fast delivery (overseas) The bass is exactly as described and i love it to bits!! He's a super-guy to deal with! thanks J, regards, Don.
4. Wow! That's the coolest looking thing i've ever seen!!!
5. pfuuw.. you can't imagine how relieved i am, i bought ,sold and traded lots of gear on basschat, talkbass and other related forums, but this is the first time i almost got a stress-related heart-attack due to an incompetent courier service... Glad i turned out OK in the end, but this surely makes me rethink how i'm going to handle shipment in the future! thanks BC'ers for the support to both of us, let's hope all the other gear-related deals will turn out to be less stress-full... ps: I'm glad you like your new bass Marty, it is an amazing looking/.sounding instrument and i liked it a lot, but i'm done with wooden necks, it's all graphite for me now!
6.
Home Delivery network seem to give the impression that they employ drivers under some kind of scheme to integrate people with no common sense into the community. I've had stuff lost they they say they have delivered where it looks like it was tossed over a fence & visible from the street, & another which was delivered into the recycle bin on a Wednesday night when the bins were collected on a Thursday. Hope you get this sorted.
Thanks for the support guys! I hope Marty joins in on this topic as he is the one that must feel the most ripped of at the moment and might have some other information that might help finding a solution/the thief . The story of the guy in the driveway sounds so unreal to me that i was already thinking the driver might've stole it himself as i had to put the value of the package on the delivery papers and if he's a dishonest person it would be easy for him to make it disappear and try to make some money out of it... *edit: added picture of the red led's
7.
Eyes peeled everyone. How many of these are in the country?! Truckstop
@ Truckstop: It's a custom shop bass, so there's only one with the red led's and custom top like this one. Unfortunately the Belgian post office is closed during the weekends, so i'll be there as soon as it opens on monday morning and i hope they can find a solution for this problem. Now i see why some people don't trust in U.K. couriers, stuff like this never happens in Belgium...
8. Hi, Last week i sold my Mayones Victorious custom 4 to "Martysprior" from here on the forum, payment came through fast, so i send the bass on monday using the service of the Belgian post for international packages. when i checked the tracking details yesterday it said the bass was delivered yesterdaymorning at 11am to Martysprior's home adress, so i send him a mail to check if delivery went well and if he liked the bass. But today i got this disturbing pm from Marty: QUOTE: "Hi Don, As of 10pm this evening the Mayones Bass has not yet been received !!!! I've spoken to the UK courier which is Home Delivery Network well over severals times today and my girlfriends Mother has even got involved as well. The English courier company stated that it was delivered at 11am this morning and signed for by some unknown, 50 year old man in our driveway, at the rear of our house. Our driveway is shared by four houses, one of which is unoccupied and we know of no 50 year old man in any of theses houses! The English courier company have said that they need to investigate further and need to speak further to the driver. Could I suggest that you, on my behalf proceed with an insurance claim on this bass as I need a FULL refund to purchase another bass urgently. The last conversation we had with a man called Darren (Warehouse Manager) at the Ipswich depot for Home Delivery Network was that any claim must be made to Belgium Post. Don, as much as I'm really, really upset that I've not got your lovely bass, I do not hold you personally responsible for this and thank you for communication and efforts so far. I look forward to your response asap Regards, Marty" and then this one: Re:Mayones Bass has not arrived !!!, Today, 02:31 PM No longer a newbie Group: Members Posts: 19 Member No.: 9,027 Joined: 19-January 10 Hi Don, It's has been incredibly stressfull especially as the courier have stated that a man has signed for the bass. We have no idea who this person is and I've definitely not received this bass!!!!!!! Please keep me informed Don, Regards Marty -------------------- Kind Regards Marty Prior Freelance Bassplayer & Composer Ofcourse i will be going to the Belgian post office first thing tomorrow morning and i hope they can sort this problem out but as the bass disapeared in the U.K. and not in Belgium i don't know what the options are.. Has anyone encountered a problem like this before and does anyone know what step's could be taken to try and solve this quite serious problem??? I'v been doing lots of buying/selling/trading all over the European continent and have never encountered a problem like this before and i'm quite shocked something like this can actually happen! I've added some picture's of the bass, so you can recognize it should it pop up for sale somewhere... I still hope this is just a mistake of the UK courier and the bass will pop up soimewhere soon, but if it really is stolen i hope someone can find the thief as no one like's loosing a 1200£ investment to some lowlife scumbag...
9.
It should be in Paris (but seems to be delayed at the airport at the moment, grrr). It didn't sell through BC - it was sold for me on commission by Phil at BassGear in Harrogate.
Darn... thanks for the info anyway, guess i will go for the modulus then
10.
Now sold!
Any idea who has this now? I was going to buy this, but missed my chance by 1 day ...really want a "Vinnie bass"...
11. Hi mate, here i am again.. I was wondering,... why is there a trussrod if it is an all graphite neck??? is the fretboard polywood? Do you know what's the string spacing at the bridge? regards, D.
12. Sold to Martysprior pending the usual. EDIT*: NOW SOLD!!!
13. is it a 35" scale? always wondered how it would feel to play one of these...

17.
Being a feeler, no pictures just yet. Might have to sell because of extensive maintenance costs to my car. Humbucker CHi-sonics installed with better pots and pushpull pot. Passive Very lightweight Plek'd incl original lakland leather case. Stunner mahogany body! 1000£ 1150€
wow man, are you gonna keep any of your basses?? seems like you're selling all your recently aquired beauty's with a significant loss ? must be a painfull experience... Good luck with the sale though and i hope things will get better for you in the near future! Regards, Don
18.
*EDIT: already have an offer of 1150£ on a Belgian auction site so all new offers should exceed that offer ofcourse. Hiya lovely bass but I'm also concerned about the neck size. Does the above quote mean it's now an auction? good luck joe
Hi Joe, the neck is actually really comfortable to play, but as i'm used to playing a stripped down musicman with a thick neck and loads of attack, this just feels a bit too different to me,in a way it feels almost too refined for a big sized hardrocker like me. Also i'm under the impression that this bass might be just a bit too much for me with the led's and the fancy top and all as i'm usualy more of a "less is more" kinda guy... A far as the auction part is concerned: as i stated before i'm open to reasonable offers , the only reason i mentioned the offer on the local site is to make it clear that there's is no use in offering less than 1150£ as i will not sell it for less than the offers i already received, on the other hand i will always prefer a BC-buyer over some store owner who just wants to make a big profit out of it. Ideally i would like to trade it with a Zon VB4 or Status Streamline ,but as these are hard to find these days, i guess selling it is the next best thing. If you have any further questions feel free to ask, kind regards, Don.
19. neck dimensions: Width at nut 43mm Width XII fret 56mm Thickness I fret 21mm Thickness XII fret 23mm Will consider trades with a nice musicman/warwick/spector + cash OR a straight swap with a Status streamline / Marleaux / Modulus Quantum / Zon VB4 bass in good condition. There might be other similar basses that i haven't thought of yet, w.h.y.g.? *EDIT: already have an offer of 1150£ on a Belgian auction site so all new offers should exceed that offer ofcourse.
20.
Stunning, I would be well interested if it was 5 strings!!!!
If it was 5 strings i would probably keep it as the 5 stringers have a thicker neck-profile,unfortunately this being a 4 string the neck feels just a bit too thin for my taste... it could be that i'm that used to the big Musicman-neck's that this will take a lot more getting used to ,but at the moment my L-thumb placement just doesn't feel right...
21. Here you can find a short soundclip with photo-presentation of the bass on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MekS6O8lEzk
22. Hello all, I just got this, but's the neck is just not right for me so i'm already putting this up for sale/trade again. putting up for sale/trade : My lovely Mayones Victorious 4 Custom. The bass is in a mint condition, no scratches, dings - no such things at all. It's hand made in Poland, left Mayones Custom Shop on 6th of February 2009. The warranty is still valid. The bass sounds GREAT, you can create many diverse tones, though I would say it sounds more like a modern and selective instrument, which is quite obvious when you take a bass' specification into consideration. The action is very low, bass is also well balanced, no neck diving of course. The bass comes with a hardcase, Hipshot Xtender, bill of sale, user's manual and hex keys. spec's: Body: Profiled Ash back & Wenge middle/Eye poplar top Neck: 9-ply / Maple-Mahogany Fingerboard: Ebony Scale: 870mm (34,25") Construction: Neck-thru-body Frets: 24 medium jumbo Ferd Wagner Markers: Bloody red LEDs + side dots Tuners: Schaller M4 Bridge: Mayones X2 two-piece brass bridge Pickups: 2x Bartolini Soapbar Electronics: active Aguilar OBP3 Controls: 1xVolume,1xBalance,1xMiddle,1xTreble/Bass Body and neck finish: Natural wood / Gloss finish Hardware colour: Black Nut: Ebony Jack: Switchcraft for the moment you can already find some picture's here, more pictures will folow later today. wanted price: 1599E / 1370£ => BC price: 1450E / 1230£ O.N.O. (The standard version of this bass goes for about 2500 Euro's and this one has the added led's, hipshot D-tuner, custom finish and so fort, so get yourself a deal! ) Shipment within EU = 45£ reason for selling: The neck is a bit too flat for my taste + i'm not a fan of NT's and would prefer a bolt-on or composite/graphite neck again. Trade in possible: looking for a modern sounding 4 or 5 string, active, bolt on or graphite/composite neck (f.e.: ZON VB4) prefferably in natural / black / grey/charcoal finish. I prefer a trade + cash my way, but might also consider a straight trade if the right bass comes along... greetz
23.
Tim's obviously not trying hard enough..... I've just bought a bass cab here this very morning!
I agree, i've traded and bought 2 high-end basses here in the last 2 weeks alone and i've never found any better deals (and nicer people to deal with! ) than i have found here on this very forum.
24. I understand, it's a lovely bass indeed, good luck with the sale! (if it doesn't sell maybe you can find someone to trade his lakland for it, i think the flatter neck of a Lakland will suit you better) Regards,D.
