1. So curiosity got the better of me, I ended up buying the Retroglide 800 to see what it was like after virtually no detailed reviews anywhere on the internet. I mostly use a late 80s Trace Ellliot AH200 head paired with a Barefaced Big Twin II for all my gigs. Lovely sound that I can tailor to most venues with the 12 band eq and the MOSFET poweramp provides lovely not too harsh break up after 12 o'clock on the volume control where also the tone starts to get compressed, lack of headroom for the bass frequencies etc but still the perceived volume gets really really loud and still sounds kinda lovely to my ears. Now I was hoping the Retroglide would provide me with more headroom and cleaner output. Well the amp is very clean, nice tone, flexible EQ, but even at max volume it is quieter than the Trace Elliot AH200 at 12 o'clock... Not much extra headroom can be acquired by dialling out the 30hz - 60hz sliders either. So off (back to the shop) with this head! Abit of a disappointment really. I really really want to get into Ashdown but they let me down at every opportunity. Im sure they do lovely valve heads that I will look into for recording needs one day. All this marketing ploy about 800w! is all toilet. I know in order to be twice as loud as 200w it would need to be 10 times the watts or so, but quieter? Other things to note. Yes the fan on the Retroglide is really that annoying if you wanted to play at lower volumes.

Sonic Sparks are great little pedals! Hot enough to run a power amp. Have a Bump.
3. Ha thanks yeah that pretty much sums it up JTUK, of course its going to ultimately be one of those "for the love of it" endeavours I guess. Small time band with a bit of backing. Still going to be a great deal of experience for me. I have no idea what it would be like juggling a whole load of gigs along side a day job! Ive gigged 3 nights of the weekend before plenty of times in function bands, but they're gigging all sides of the country on week days yet still somehow hold down their day jobs?!
4. Ive been asked by one of the members to try out for my favourite local band. They already have label, management, 2 albums, tours booked etc none of which I have ever achieved in band. Feeling a bit overwhelmed. No idea how to approach the legal side of things if I make the grade. What details should I look out for. Any suggestions/advice/jokes welcome!
5. I traded my Darkglass B7K for Harry's Mobius. The Mobius got stuck with an incompetent driver from Yodel which delayed the delivery, other than that all was flawless. Harry was straight on the case with Yodel and never let up. The pedal was packaged professionally, all comms were prompt and everything was exactly as described. Never worry about a thing when dealing with this guy! Many thanks!
6. Ok thanks for the info! Have a bump
7. Is it possible to use this pedal in stereo but only apply the effects to only either left or right side while leaving the other side unaffected? Thanks
8. Is this still for sale?
9. I bought Geoffs Trace Series 6 AH200. Great guy to deal with, no worries at all. Amp arrived swiftly and soundly, very well packaged. Very happy here! Many Thanks
10. I traded in a pedal for Rory's Carbon Copy. Everything went super smooth and the chap even sent his pedal special delivery so I received it the day after! Fantastic stuff
11. I bought Pete's Frantabit. Well packaged and arrived very shortly after paying for it. Great dude to deal with!
12. A bit puzzled as to why this pre-amp went for so much??? Is this certain Gibson era model sought after? (Im presuming its Gibson era from the features) http://www.ebay.co.u...=p2047675.l2557 Im after an older Trace head so I left this but watched it out of curiosity.

Bought Chriz' Subterranea from him. Packaged very well and arrived in no time. All as described many thanks!
14. I bought Tim's Thumb NT5 off him, he's a lovely chap, has all the patience in the world and definitely looks after his basses, do not be discouraged by his newbie basschat status!
15. I bought the PF500 amp of Russ, great guy to deal with! buy with confidence.
16. I bought a Warwick Thumb NT5 2002 from Tim. The bass is in fantastic condition, really well looked after and spooky enough had the exact same string gauge, brand and type, that I had planned to set it up with. Effortless, hassle free transaction with prompt communication. Tim is a great guy to deal with, buy with confidence!
17.
I really want to know what the seller has said and if he is gonna pay up? And I hope he did not skimp or skip on paying extra insurance thinking it would be OK. That would be a big no no! If I send a bass it's always fully insured for loss, I even add extra for the actual cost of shipping on top of what the bass cost.
He's just told me he is not going to refund me and it is upto DPD to compensate me. Which I doubt will happen either. well. damn. Not surprising of course.
18. Oh and Kev, is there a specific part of the Warwick forum I should post to to report the bass being lost? I haven't logged on to that forum in 8 years! many thanks.
19.
I read this on Facebook this morning, horrible thing to happen As far as I am concerned, it is the sellers responsibility to pursue the Insurance Claim through DPD and get what money they can back, but the entire amount should be refunded to you. It is their responsibility to get the bass to you, and incidents such as this cannot mean you are out of pocket, unless you explicitly agreed with the seller pre-sale that all responsibility of shipping lies with you, which I doubt you did! I do feel awfully sorry for the seller but I hope they do what's right for you. I also feel sorry for you as a lovely Warwick has gone Hopefully one of you has a note of the serial number? Get that posted up. The bass is unusual in that it has an ebony fingerboard with no inlays; I have a hunch it started life as a fretless and was fretted at some point, but if that isn't true then it is quite a rare combo indeed; fretted SSII's have wenge fingerboards and the inlays. In other words, if another comes up like it it will stand out to me and other Warwick aficionados like a sore thumb. Get it shared on the Warwick forum too if you haven't already.
Thank you Kev. No agreement was made to say all responsibility of shipping lies with me. However kudos to the seller, he has been with this all the way so far. Excellent communication. I believe from DPD's T&C's their comp limit is 1K and extra comp would have cost extra. Unfortunately and stupidly I assumed the bass was fully comp as the postage quote was £50. I asked if he could include that (postage costs) in the offer I sent him. He agreed. So unless they find the bass, one of us is going to loose out on at least £350 and that is not factoring in the currency conversion of the bank transfers... Right ball ache eh! Ive had Warwicks shipped to me before from as far as USA with no problems at all. Just this one got a way... Even the DPD dude on the phone today very subtly implied "stuff like that just doesn't go missing" which I might request the audio recording of and all other conversation I have had with them. DPD did at one point try to evade liability by stating the address was wrong. I quickly shot that down by asking why the three previous members of DPD staff I had spoke to had not flagged that up. Anyway, they have admitted full liability. But I just want the bass!
20.
That's bad news - sorry to hear it. Although IMO it's not shocking. Shocking would be if they didn't admit it, and didn't claim responsibility.
I suppose your right
21.
Not your problem then, it's up to the seller/shop to claim the insurance and then either refund you or get you the bass yyou paid for
I wish it was as easy as that, but why would the seller cough up?
22.
I wonder where it actually ended up? It's not like they disappear into the ether! Half-inched by someone at a depot? Mistakenly delivered elsewhere?
I have not suggested to them that I think it was stolen yet. Although I did suggest maybe they sent it to the wrong address and skipped the depot scans but of course they cant answer to that.
23.
Did you arrange the courier?
No
24.
Didn't realise that, but I just don't trust them I guess.
What the Germans?
