But I was hasty and just paid the agreed price which was in Pounds Sterling. HSBC's rates last night were roughly 1.27 £ to Euro. Xe.com;s rate was 1.31. A fair difference to annoyed about if I was the seller I agree there

Hi there guys, Ive just transferred payment for a bass. The exact amount agreed in English pounds. But the seller is not happy with my bank's conversion rates and is using xe.com to show me I owe him more money. What should I do? Thanks

I was given a couple of "photographer's" hard cases by my dad. One of which has removable foam blocks inside that I can remove to accommodate my Markbass head so it fits nice and snug. They're probably quite old and they're brand-less so I couldn't say where to find them. Possibly something to search for online

Un fortunately it is a very rare gtr that will listen to the band and adjust his sound as he expect you to adjust yours.. I've said it before... get a band to play a straight 8 chugg parttern or shuffle... and set the bass and drums up on it. When the keys come in..they'll automatically play something that gets out of the way..if they have any sort of brain. Take a guess what most gtrs will do... and even if you invite them to play the exact same pattern... most will obliterate the bass in doing so with the tone and playing style they have. This is your problem... being oblivious. Style of playing comes into it massively... a hard handed player will get way more volume off my bass than I ever could..but I want the amp headroom for finesse. [/quote] You share my sentiments exactly. Ive seen bands with bass players going into SVT CL's into 8x10's, both sides of the stage! but you couldnt pick out a note of the bass line.

Im just worried going back to a 2x12, I might not, hence the speaker dispersion question in the OP. IMO the 1001RB doesnt have precise enough control over the bass or lower mids to tailor it to some venues. Even with the 50hz cut, some venues just resonate certain frequencies too much and the "boom" is hard to get rid of resulting in either thin sound when I cut the bass or just big boomy bass. Ive read in forums that the Neo212 cabs have a significant dip at 600hz too and you cant eq that back with the 1001RB (im planning on changing amps too). I use Gamma pads for hollow stages and play in the corner when I can, yes, very helpful info I learnt years ago from this forum. But many thanks for offering your advice IanA.

Yeah I kind of have a on going back problem myself, even though the Neo212s are 25kg, the shape of them means I am constantly turning them in hand to get through doorways which is not ideal for my back. Putting them down, rotating them and lifting them up again is too much hassle

Wow many thanks for all the replies in just one day, many Barefaced users I see. Controlling dynamics and attack is very important to me live (as im one of those make-shift bass/synth players), I need the headroom and to be able to hear what the crowd is hearing, instead of having to kneel down and check all the time if I had a short cab. All your feedback sounds very promising. Its kind of hard to believe a short cab like the Big Twin 2 could match up to the speaker dispersion of a 8x10 or 4x12. Looks like Im buying a Big Twin 2 very soon!

Im currently using a Gallien Krueger 1001RB into two GK Neo212s. Although this rig does the job very well, It doesn't tick all the boxes for me. I don't normally have monitors or PA subs at my gigs and I was wondering if the speaker dispersion from the Barefaced Big Twin 2 is going to be enough to hear my sound accurately on stage? any advice from owners or people with experience with the Big Twin 2 would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I recommend the Aguilar TLC. Fantastic at either Limiting or subtle compression with a mostly transparent operation. There is one second-hand on basschat at the moment I believe. Monitoring with your ears is easy enough when it comes to Limiting and you can also use your amp's clip LED for reference too.

Hi all, I am seeking advice on expression pedals, what you think are the best and why. Im using Moog ep-2's at the moment and although highly compatible with most pedals, they dont seem to last long before stuttering and squeaking. Cheers
