1.
One of the reasons I ALWAYS suggest getting a multi FX unit to folk whom are new to effects is to get to know what different effects do & to find out what you're likely to use in a band setting. Saves a fortune on "bling bricks". Buying 2nd hand is a good thing to do if you're not 100% if the pedal is gonna get used, that way you can sell it on at minimal/no loss.
Totally agree, just not long started back playing after 20 years away from bass and i bought a zoom B2 to see what's out there and it's a great thing to be able to sit at home and fiddle with things till you get something you like, you may like the sounds on a mulit fx unit enough to keep it or you might buy a pedal according to what you use most on it. Also, don't use the headphones with it only, as your amp will sound totally different.
 2. Thanks Paul, top amp from a top bloke.
 3. Hi there, or fit like min as they say in Aberdeen, I have a mint Schecter stilletto custom 4 that i might be selling as i may have a bongo 4 bought shortly, and i am in Arbroath if that helps. Only trouble is, I'm offshore at the moment but supposed to be home on Monday. I really like the bass, but always wanted a bongo 4. Welcome to come down and try it out.
 4.
I concur
Seen these for sale at 625 quid in guitar shops, i have one and this one is at a bargain price, anyone who thinks it's no good as "its a schecter" is a fool!

 7.
Im a fan, I just meant that to me at least he stands out as himself, great front man without being over the top, always a great band with music crosses a fair few styles, almost in a blockhead kind of way only different
Know what you mean, to me he was very underated as most people just remember Steppin Out but he wrote a lot of good stuff, i just started playing again after 20 years leaving a band to work offshore so this is a good show to play along to as i like all the songs. Wish i had gone to see him live back in the day.
 8.
If it was the original player, it'd be one Graham Maby. He's an awesome player and criminally underrated/overlooked . On "Look Sharp" and "I'm The Man" (the first 2 albums) he played an Ibanez Roadster, I believe. Last Bass I saw him playing was a US Spector, though that was a while ago. He could well be playing something else by now...
I played an Ibanez Roadster series 2 till i started working offshore and had to quit the band i was in, should have kept it!!
 9.
Joe Jackson fan, yes, very unique
What do you mean? I know there won't be Joe Jackson fans as such but people who maybe have seen the Concert i mentioned.
 10.
It's not Graham Mabey on the video the OP is talking about; Mabey was touring as part of Marshall Crenshaws band at the time so couldn't do the shows with Joe Jackson. The bassist on the video mentioned in the thread is Rick Ford. I think the 6 sting he was using was a Ken Smith.
Cheers Rhys, i will look out for Ken Smith Basses, just liked the look of it. Also the guitarist was not the same either as i just noticed this quote from somebody on amazon who bought the DVD. The performances are excellent throughout. Though the tour started out with Vinnie Zummo on guitar, Tom Teeley steps in and does a marvelous job; if you weren't aware of the mid-tour personnel change, you wouldn't even notice.
 11. Guys, Anyone watched Joe Jackson Live In Tokyo? Just wondering what kind of Bass Rick Ford was playing, Nice 6 string. Downloaded the concert as had it years ago on video but lost it, still like the music they played. Cheers, Billy.
 12. Guys and gals, i need advice quickly on buying this Hartke amp on ebay, please let me know soon as ending in 5 hours. I have only just started getting back to playing after 20 years as went to work offshore and had to leave the band i was in due to the fact i wouldn't be there! I just jam at the moment and practice in the house, so would this be a good buy for me. Cheers, Billy.
