Show off haha. Are you still in York? Not seen or heard of your bass skills in our fair city yet?
-
Hi Ped. Yes of course a one off would be out if the question. The question I ask though is how many more players would have bought one if a J neck were available over the years. Anyone have an estimate as to what percentage of players prefer a J neck or a P?

Am I the first bass player in history of the history graphite to ask Status if they make a headless S2 with a J width neck? I was mislead into thinking they did on a custom build but after making my enquiry and keen to place my order I was politely told they didn't. Then after emailing a couple of other questions I then seem to find myself blanked. Have I touched a nerve? Perhaps they are they contemplating how many more sales they might have had if they had been able to find a way of creating a J neck to satisfy the needs of the jazz bass lovers. Seriously though I'm a bit stunned that it's not possible. Any suggestions for alternatives, I've considered old Steinbergs etc but any more suggestions would be welcome

I AM Going! Yes very disappointed at the Foo Fighters pulling out. Was planning to see Florance but quite agree she is not up to headliner status. There is still a gap in the schedule where Florance was so hopefully something half decent will fill its place. Also not impressed with the sh*te headlining the Pyramid Saturday night but there is a good evening in the Acoustic tent and the John Peel stage so I'm sorted, Texas, Andy Fairweather Low with Paul Carrick and Nick Lowe, Moody blues then off to see Suede. Thank heavens for The Who starring Pino on Sunday......oh and Lionel of course!!!
and your old BB400 was good - which ended up with me finding my BB1200 (what's wrong with the actives?) Lucky thing - a TRB would be my choice to try as a first 5er - actually thats not the worst idea in the world....
Yes the BB200 and BB300 were good basses too. New budget basses aren't quite the same in today's market! Not sure what's wrong with the actives in the 1100s. Replaced the dead battery just after buying it and after a fizzle and a pop never worked again...blown capacitor?... who knows? That said I've been using it as a passive bass with flats and a damper on it, sounds amazing!
How wonderful! It's great that she enjoyed it. I remember seeing a very good show about songwriter Harold Arlen at the Mill many years ago (late 80's). It was a great venue - glad to hear it's still going.
Yes it's great venue, very quaint. Not many venues can claim to have a full size working water wheel in their bar either! -
Was depping for queen tribute band Magic last night at The Mill at Sonning. One old dear had tuned up to the theater thinking it was actually a magic show. Undeterred she stayed till the end and thoroughly enjoyed her first rock gig! We were playing on a set for a murder mystery play too which may have added to her confusion!
