1.
Hi Clem Yes this is the original Puma 1000 with the Superb ( and very expensive ) Powersoft modules -- Check out Powersoft reviews and prices! Spec is ; ( From Handbook ) Output Power rating Channel A 500 watts @ 4 ohms Channel B 500 watts @ 4 ohms Mono Bridged Mode 1000 watts @ 8 ohms Weight 2.8 kg ---- 6.2 lbs You are more than welcome to come over and try it out anytime! Will.
Cheers Will. That's great and what I'm looking for. I'll hope fully raise the money before someone else grabs it. Cheers, hopefully be in touch soon.
2.
its the powersoft version so sounds nicer and is 4 ohms min per channel or 1000w into 8ohms if bridged. Will has it going into a single fearful cab for pretty much the ultimate rig!
Hi Luke. Ah did this used to be yours? Funny if it ends up back with the same cab! Looks like what I'm after, just working on the means! Hope you're well.
3. Sure you're correct but just want to confirm that the amp is definitely 500w into 4ohm minimum and not 2ohm into each channel . The only one I can find on tecamps website says 500w into 2ohms and 350 into 4ohms. Cheers.
4. Nice. Saving up for a lightweight amphead at the moment and fancy a Tecamp to match my cab. Hopefully sell some bits soon but fear I may miss this one, good luck with the sale, good price!
5. Jeff Buckleys version of Hallelujah has to be up there https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8AWFf7EAc4
6. I have one of these albeit with Delano pickups. Awesome bass, wish I could afford another!
7. All weekend for me. Saturday a wedding with one party band, Sunday a birthday party with another then Monday depping with legendary queen tribute Magic at Bristol Hipadrome. When will I get chance to eat my eggs?
8. Hi. Always fancied one of these after trying the 5. Would like to know the width at nut, prefer jazz to p myself. Tried looking it up but couldn't find the info. Ta.
9. April fools perhaps??? http://www.bassplayer.com/gear/1164/apple-unveils-the-greatest-breakthrough-in-low-end-technology-the-ibass/51568
10. Try some iron-on wood veneer strip. Can be glued in place and removed with heat later if required.
11. Second bass legend to leave us this week. Both definately had an influence on my playing. RIP guys
12. Sounds interesting, more info would be nice

14.
Hello all, My band are in a bit of rut thinking of a carefully chosen last song. For many bands, their last song is something that is a kind of signature. A song that always goes down well, but is not the obvious 500 Miles, or Alright Now, Hey Jude or whatever. A local band I know play Viva Las Vegas, another one always plays Angels and another one always goes for Want You Back (Take That). Great songs that most bands don't even bother putting in their main sets but gets pulled out of the bag right at the end and sounds great. So really I'm asking if anyone has any ideas for a slightly unusual anthemic, sing along song to close the night with. Any ideas gratefully recieved! Alex Haha. Did a dep for a cover band the other night and those were the last three songs if the night , alright now, hey Jude and 500 miles! Something to be said for the classics
15. I would sometimes catch the neck when wearing my ring so now I don't wear it when playing, get a bit of grief from my wife though!
16.
I've had a lot of MIJ basses (including licensed Fender products), and the only non-metric allen screws I've ever encounterted have been the pole pieces in the DiMarzio pickups fitted as standard to many early 80s instruments. Jon. Thank you Baddassin
18.
I would guess metric as Japan has used metric for a long time. But couldn't say for sure.
Thank you
19. I have a Japanese Fender Jazz, 75 reissue, made in 1997, and just wondered wether the truss rod would be imperial or metric. Both the 4mm or the 5/32 sit a bit loose in the bullet truss rod and I suspect the bullet may need replacing. The saddle adjusters take a metric allen key perfectly so think the answer may be metric... Many thanks
20. Great little studio speakers, especially for £30! Sounded better than the Krk rocket 5s IMO, had some in my studio for a couple of years and mixes always translated well.
21. HI Ordep. Can't seem to find the answer to this anywhere.... Does plugging headphones in mute the speaker output? I would want to use both, aux in and headphone for in ears while having sound on stage too. Have you tried it like this?
22.
I'd like to reiterate though that if you like it and it's a pukka Fender Japan you should be happy regardless of age.
Cheers and thank you for your reassuring words.. I've told him I'm not disputing it anymore, life's too short anyway...Told him to give £50 to Children in Need from the both of us and be done with it!
23.
Do you think you paid more for the item then you would have if it was from the late 90s? My personal experience with both made and crafted in Japan basses is that they are both generally excellent products. Also I wouldn't value a MIJ less than a CIJ or value it higher if it was older. If the bass is indeed a 75 reissue, of Japanese descent, in the condition it was made out to be in and you think you paid a fair price for it then there shouldn't really be any issue. Made in Japan from around 82 till 96/97 means it was made by fujigen, crafted in Japan means it was made by Dyna Gakki, not common before 97 as production hadn't completely changed hands, only some CIJ from earlier than 97 exist due to so,e Fujigen expansions that slowed production. Do you mind telling us what you paid? They reuse the numbers but a MIJ with an A is from 86/87 and a CIJ with an A is 96/97 All in all it's very confusing, some say this and some say that but it's hard to keep track and get proof.
Also many thanks for the info Prime bass

25. Thank you all
