1. Bass lead Amp. Works for me.
 2.
My sincere apologies for the use of a non-black pickguard on one of these basses. One is on order and will be fitted soon.
Phew....Near miss there! I won't mention the weird looking one one the left.
 3.
Also the album cover was ideal for a roll up. Ever tried it on a CD case. Vinyl rules.
Yes...roll ups...I use one of those old fashioned "book" things now.
 4.
Rubbish. IMO properly produced digital formats are the best thing that's happened to music since recording began. I certainly don't miss the hiss, crackle and other inconvenient aural artefacts that littered vinyl releases. Records pressed on vinyl so thin that it only just didn't qualify as a flex-disc. Records with pops and scratches in them before you'd even played them once. Hunting through a box of new LPs in a record shop trying to find a copy that had the hole somewhere close to the centre. Give me good digital any day!
Well said,Sir.
 5.
Right now,I'm failing to see a problem. Play it in E minor. If your only worry is about strings ringing, then I'd suggest maybe working on your muting technique. You can do a couple of songs in the same key so it makes an easy segue..again,it's not really a big deal.I depped with a band last night, and there were a few songs where they changed the key for segue reasons.Great,no problems. With regards to him saying it's in E when it's in E minor-let's be honest, there are loads of people who just say "It's in E" with no regard to actual key signatures.
Pretty much what I was going to say.Nothing wrong with changing keys, although it's ususally for vocalist reasons in my case.
 6. Nice one.Cheers dude.
 7.
I never thought I would be posting on this thread but things have changed, a bit. I am playing in a band that does covers of punk/rock/pop tunes that were mostly played on a P bass with a pick. I am a Jazz bass die hard and thought I could just turn down the bridge pickup and get an authentic P bass sound. That didn't really work, so I started off down a road I had never been down. After a little trial and error and some sanding and painting I ended up here, and i quiet like it. Here is my newly built Frankenstein P bass. Squier 80's Jazz neck, I bought it half sanded with no decal. I finished sanding it, lacquered it with satin nitro cellulose and added a really crap Fender decal. (So no one thought i was trying to pull a fast one) Squier VM body with tort scratchplate Kiogon wiring, pots and knobs Seymour Duncan spb-3 quarter pounder It plays great and sounds awesome. I could swap the bridge for something chunkier and add the strap button on the headstock, apart from that I think this is my go to bass for the foreseeable...
Any problems fitting the neck?
 8.
Having been without a Precision for many years I finally decided that I once again needed one so I recently acquired this very nice 1973 model which I am told had a single owner for the past 30 years. It's a joy to play in that it weighs only 8lb 8oz. All set-up with new set of DR LoRiders and now ready to rock.
There's folk would pay a lot of money to recreate that sort of wear...... If it weighs less than 14lbs it's not a proper Precision..
 9. Yes,mate of mine has just aquired some, and frankly I have no idea what the difference is.
 10. It's more of a Death Metal thing.Long story.
 11. Ermmm....What's a scatterwound pickup?
 12.
If you go for BRG then paint the headstock yellow like a Lotus 7.
Ooooooooh....yes.
 13. Yes,Ellie, this subject has been done before a few times..... I use DR Black Beauties on stage, partly because they're black, and partly because I like the sound, but I don't like the price...I use D'Addario nickels everywhere else. I've made my opinions on Rotosounds quite clear before, but for the benefit of anyone who hasn't seen it,I utterly despise Rotosound and wouldn't use them even if I was paid to.My 1978 Fender Precisions both have serious fretware due to Rotosound not understanding the basic concept of making strings that aren't capable of doubling as saw blades.
 14. As solo artist Hugh Cornwell ably demonstrates, although Toiler on the Sea didn't quite work with the bassist singing the keyboard line..
 15.
It's not to hand at the moment,I'll take some more soon that you can actually see it in...
Sorry folks, should have specified it's the sunburst one, late 80's Japanese made, one of the few basses I've owned since new.The black 1978 Fender is currently not for sale..

 17.
There you go, that's sorted it!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOetc
 18. Just a feeler here, but is anyone interested in swapping a hard worked Tokai Hard Puncher for a similar condition Jazz?
 19.
 20. Second hand Peavey TNT combo.
 21. I go for a general approximation.
 22.
aaah, but then you can repeat the mistake and call it a jazz interlude
Unfortunately it was the main riff..
 23. In my experience you won't have to change the bridge.Don't forget to move the strap button to the other horn though..
