I have a 4 legged stool.Clearly superior to the wobbly 3 leg stool.Can't see instruments changing,recording technology has,any breakthrough technology is likely to be amps rather than instruments.Parker Fly,anyone?
As far as I'm aware,Gibson have never officially made left handed basses.I have seen one that was discussed in one of the now defunct guitar mags from the 90's,and their opinion was that it was made in the Gibson factory after hours..

I've still got my EB shaped Kay.Bag o' sh*te.
Technology in the studio is useful,but to be reliant on it is self defeating,from a musicians point of view.And there's nothing quite like that "nailed it " moment when you know you've got it right.
