1. Akai S612 with 2.8" disk drive,Akai S2000 and a Roland SH1 which I actually use occasionally.
 2. You'll generally find software samplers easier than hardware, but if you get the urge for an old school hardware sampler,I've got a few gathering dust......which shoud tell you something!
 3. I ususally find walking onto tthe stage tends to empty the dance floor.
 4.
The drummer's drum/sex face is infinitely worse, however...
Errrrrrmmmmm......
 5.
nooo waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
Although he denied it for years,'tis true.
 6. I preferred them them when they were underground....

 8.
..... and get a black one.
Of course.
 9. Just remember where you saw it first..
 10. Hooky may not have been a technically proficient bassist ( which seems to offend some) but he wrote some brilliant - and memorable - bass lines. Give me passion over ability any day.
 11. I'm surprised no one has made an FX pedal with a "ripped speaker" setting yet.
 12.
I think it's the CBS thing. .
Agreed,I think it's a throwback to the percieved quality downturn after CBS took over Fender.Plus the rarity of an instrument actually surviving it's design function for so long. £2500 is ridiculous amount for a '73 Fender, although it does make me look at both my 78 Fender P's with increasing awe.
 13.
All of the above, but I want to be childish and talk about baked beans and Brussel sprouts. I'll get me coat.
This diet will move air.
 14.
Here's my '84 Tokai Hard Puncher, not sure what model it is, maybe a PB40(?) Had it for about 15 years. In that time had many basses come & go, but this has always remained in my collection. It's generally my go-to bass & main one when I need a bass with roundwounds. Changed stock pickup for a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 'Vintage', added the tortoishell pickguard, recently fitted a John East P-Retro & strung with DR nickel Lo-Riders. Otherwise it's stock, though I've been thinking about replacing the tuners for a while. The neck is fast, not far off a jazz bass width & with a deep U profile - similar to a 70's P-Bass, really nice to play, comfortable. Cheers
Nice, always liked Tokais. How many screws are in the machine heads,3 or 4? That's one way of identifying the model.
 15.
Does "never been gigged" mean "doesn't stink of smoke from the pub"? And when the smoking ban was introduced, the saying continued?
Good point.Does this mean the Fender Olympic White basses are going to stay white?
 16. Most of the damage to my instruments has occurred during rehersals.
 17. 12" speakers help........
 18. Ok,THE JJ Burnel classic rig: Unique 58 ( I think ) hand painted green sunburst rosewood fingerboard Fender P with Rotosounds 50w HiWatt guitar head Marshall 2 x 15 Marshall 4 x 12 with knackered speakers MONSTEROUS amounts of compression in the studio And,as has been rightly pointed out by many, JJ Burnell.
 19.
Once I`ve got it, methinks a photo is going to have to go up of the pair of them.
Damn right.
 20. emg's spring to mind.
 21. I was busking.Made 5p.Also Granada.
 22.
Rob, impeccable taste, as always. Spike, can I have first dibs if this ever....worth a try.
I've had this sitting in it's case, unuseable, for about 10 years...Just played my first gig with it after repair, and it's just perfect.Sooooooo.......erm no,but I may well contemplate shifting some of my other basses which have suddenly become redundant..
 23.
Bought this earlier in the week to keep my old Tokai Jazz company,
Mirror image of mine....
