1.
Ah come on , your not telling me you can't use at least 2 plectra at the same time ? you must have small hands , maybe Spike could do 64ths at 720 bps with a bit of practice
Easily, but the drummer would never keep up.......
 2. 5 string basses are a tool of the Devil.
 3. I'll just stick to hammering out 32nds at 360 bpm with a plectra.
 4. Is it safe to post pics of Rick copies? Dont want the site to get in trouble..
 5. A PA would be a good idea, although I would have thought the event should supply it.Lend her the Ashdown. You know you want to.
 6. Indeed, but that wasn't the Definitive Damned sound.
 7. An interesting question. My memories ( admittedly after decades of ermmm recreational brain destruction) were always of P basses, but as pointed out, there were a LOT of Ricks on Punk Brittannia.Personally,JJ Burnel's sound, and that of Algy Ward define Punk, both P bass users.I use 78 P basses nowadays, but also a Rick copy..
 8. Hmmm... Lemmy = plectrum = hard bastard. JJ Burnell = plectrum = hard bastard. There may be a theme here.. And stop calling them picks.Real bassists use plectrums.
 9.
Geddy
Less likely to beat you to death if you told him he wasn't a real bassist..
 10.
Nicky Wire. Agreed, someone should show him how to play a pentatonic scale at least!
Why?
 11. No one sticking up for Sid yet?
 12.
Well you better give Gene Simmons the news because I'm not making that phone call
13.
That list could also be called Fabulously Successful And Rich Bass Players
Or dead...
 14. Brave of you to open that can of worms... Definately agree with Nikki Six and Sid Vicious. They genuinely couldn't play.
 15. JJ Burnell JJ Burnell JJ Burnell JJ Burnell JJ Burnell JJ Burnell JJ Burnell JJ Burnell JJ Burnell Lemmy.
 16.
I thought Hooky's Hondo got nicked?
I read a magazine interview with Hooky a few years ago where he said he donated it to a charity.I'll dig it out and confirm.
 17.
........ The true glory of punk was making kids realise you don't have to be a virtuoso before you start a band and promoting a DIY ethos to getting things done outside of the established record companies. Fanzines and home made singles are the blogs and soundclouds of today. You're probably more punk than you know
Damn right.
 18. It's not about volume,it's about headroom.Low frequencies eat watts.150 watts RMS is the minimum I'd consider for rehersals.
 19.
Punk was a short-lived fashion thing ... it lasted slightly longer than hot pants. And now, flame away.
34 years and counting..
 20.
I did mainly because it looks pretty haha, but also because it makes it easier to identify which is mine
Can't argue with that....
 21. It's a complex subject....Personally,I differentiate between Punk,and Punk Rock.One is a style of music,one is a sociopolitical stance.
 22.
I don't know where you got that information from but in my opinion Punk from 79-82 was just as popular, as the punk that preceded it. Bands like Angelic Upstarts, The Dead Kennedys, Sham 69, The Adicts, The Cockney Rejects, Black Flag, The Anti-Nowhere League, the whole Oi! movement etc. I could go on for ages. Just because it wasn't on TOTP doesn't mean it wasn't popular. And if you argue that it was, then I think you'll find there was a fair amount of punk on TOTP after '78 too.
Damn right. GBH,Discharge,Crass, the many bands on Crass records,UK Subs,Violators,Vice Squad,Rudimentary Peni,Subhumans, there's a big long list. One could argue that after all those Art School Punk bands gave up,that is when Punk became the grass roots movement it was supposed to be.
 23.

Yes.Last for decades too.
