1. 550 seems a bit steep.
2.
I`m sorry, they most likely love the sound of the basses they use but nothing looks more wrong than an upside bass guitar. Jez
Agreed.
3. Cash Converters unhelpful? There's a surprise.....Nice to have a happy ending though!
4. Not Rotosound!
5. Also my first proper bass in 1979,the only budget lefty I could get. Also natural wood with a white scratch plate, although it got sprayed silver and had the frets removed at some point.Definately not plywood.
6. DR Black Beauties on stage, Daddario nickels everywhere else. However, having just discovered my Favourite Strings of All Time are now back in poduction,I may well be using Daddario XL Reds when I can afford them.
7.
I play another instrument too, the purple oboe... I wont post any pics up of it here though.
Pics or it didn't happen. My studio projects involve synthesizers, samplers, sequencers, field recordings, shortwave radios, hammers and shouting.
8. Just get a custom respray,no one will ever know.
9.
Fender Precision and pretty much anything to be honest
True dat.
10. Not worried,it was a rehersal room conversation that required resolution.
11. Hmmm.So if I bought a german tuner from Thomann,would it be 443 hz.?
12.
Rock and Roll part 2 is a really good song too
You can always play the Human League's version.
13. Right,we all know concert pitch is 440 hz.,yes? I've just been told that concert pitch in mainland Europe is actually 443 hz.Can anyone confirm this? Not that I'm planning on using the Berlin Philharmonic soon,..Just curious.
14. Happy ending ,then! Plus,if it was Cash Converters you'd have probably ended up meeting the person it was nicked off..
15.
everyone knows PROPER plecrums are green.
16.
Even though he was the bass player at the time and was credited on the sleeve I'm not to sure he actually played much on the LP. Nice tone indeed though.
Indeed,I'm led to believe Captain Sensible played much of it,although Algy claims otherwise.
17. Algy Ward on the Damned's Machine Gun Ettiquette.
18.
Maybe its just people who are from Tyne-side and are of a certain age. (IE: people who might know what I'm on about if I said "I'd dow anythin for a canny bag o Tudor, man" for instance ?)
Crisps?
19.
Loving the white boots look...
Take closer look.They're socks.
20.
I had a massive 2x18" Vox cab that ran to 100w. I kind of wish I still had it because it looked cool. Though I'm glad I never had to try to transport it in a small car, especially with all the metal work and huge wheels bolted onto the outside of it.
Envy...
21. I've had my Peavey mk.6 for a couple of decades,so it's fair to say it's a keeper.
22. It never did EMF any harm....
23. Surprising as it may seem today, big old valve amps were highly unfasionable in the late 70's and many a bargain was to be had.Selmer Zodiac 100w head, with push button eq presets,Traynor (Canadian,I believe)100w head both passed through my hands for small money.70's cabs were sh*te though.I still have a wardrobe sized Marshall 1 x 18 which required a Cortina estate to fit around it,which handled all of 100 watts.
24.
I was their biggest fan in the 80s, saw them plenty of times, the Hacienda in Manchester stands out as one of the best from memory. I haven't seen them since The Futurama Festival in Leeds in '86, totally lost touch with the new stuff. Any good?
Yes.
25.
. . I don't like big bloated 70's stacks. General rule of thumb, you'll need to be twice as loud as the guitarist(s).And run your amp at around half volume to avoid farty speaker destruction.
