Not exactly an educated opinion...but very simply,the further away from the strings the pickup,then the quieter they will be.Are they easy to adjust? If so raise them up a bit and see if there's a difference.

EMG Select gets the thumbs up from me,been using them for years.

I've found Hawkwind's Born To Go usually does the trick.

Don't get me started on Rotosound......Nowt wrong with Peavey,I've had my mk.6 and 2 1x15 Black Widows for nearly 20 years and it's still going strong.

We play a lot of all-dayers which inevitably means shared backline/drumkit,and policy is to provide your own breakables.It's definately ettiquette to sort out kit share requirements before hand,and yes,our drummer would be peeved if a support band simply expected him to provide kit without prior arrangement.
